PHILI PPINES VACCINE UPDATE The Philippines has 5,180,721 total doses administered- 3,974,350 vaccinated with the first dose and 1,206,371 vaccinated with the second dose.
The number of vaccination sites on the current supply of vaccines in the Philippines is linked. The government insists that the registered people belonging to the priority groups, such as A1 to A3,
should get vaccinated. They are urging the vaccinated people to continue practicing the minimum public health standards.
The average daily administered doses in the last seven days are 144,402. The average number of active reporting vaccination sites in the previous seven days is 1,124. In the Philippines, group A1 has 1,403,647 people vaccinated with the 1st dose and 671,422 with the 2nd dose. Group A2 has administered 1,379,946 with the first dose and 245,244 vaccinated with the 2nd dose. A3 has 1,179,930 with the first dose while 286,670 with the 2nd dose. any of today's youth are struggling to live up to the expectations of their parents or others. Many get depressed, while others became rebellious. This state happens because they are in the process of developing (puberty). As a result, they become absorbed in their expectations and the dread of disappointing them, neglecting their desires and dreams. “High expectations are the key to everything,” as the saying goes. However, although having expectations is not wrong, satisfying the expectations of others will put you under a lot of strain and stress. As a new junior high school student and as the eldest daughter, it is hard to cope with my studies, not only because of what is happening to our environment this time. Ever since I transferred schools during 2nd grade of elementary, it became hard for
me to study because our lessons are always a year advanced. Then my teachers began to expect more from me since I have high grades. So, when they say that I am intelligent, I always thought that I must live up to that. Alot happened when I entered third grade. As the stress mounts, they constantly accuse me of being angry. My mother got hospitalized for more than two months, so my sister and I have to stay at home because no one will take care of us. Then a few months after she recovered, she got pregnant with my youngest sister Jaeden. It was the year that my grades went down.
During my graduating year, they frequently ask us what school we wanted to go to or what our dream was. I always answered, “I will go to MariSci.” And then my teachers will reply, “You’ll be able
to enter. Your mom wants it too, right? You’ll get in.” So I considered what I would say if someone asked what school I wanted to go to rather than what school they wanted me to enroll in. As it matters to me, it also matters for others. Because you don't want to let them down. It's good to acknowledge other people's perspectives on you, but you're the only one who understands what you need to accomplish. To avoid hurting the feelings of others and to avoid hurting yourself. Not achieving their expectations does not imply that you are not valued. If you ever feel lost on what to do, think about what you want others to see you as, what you want, and who you are. It is ok to take a break from everything. Quitting is not always the best option; it is just one of many.

he outbreak of COVID-19, originating from Wuhan, China, known as SARS COV2 it was later recognized, shook the first quarter of 2020. It happened so quickly that everyone, even the first-world countries, had a hard time handling it. Our country struggled and everyone needs to shift to the new normal. The implementation of community quarantine or lockdown is one of the solutions executed by the government. People were forced to work from home. Food deliveries became a thing. And they introduced online classes or distance learning for the students to continue their studies despite our situation. It's been more than a year, yet we cannot still say that we are all out of the woods. I thought we could be in a better state now than we were before. On the contrary, a month ago, the president again announced that the NCR would be under the ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine) due to the alarming increase of infected people. I cannot even say that we are back to square one. It seems like we are ten steps backward from where we were exactly a year ago. People have begun to feel complacent about our situation. It appears that even people don't follow even the most basic and minimum health protocols.
Worse, we now know people close to us who lost a relative or know someone who lost their battle with COVID19. Fast forward to 2021, here we are, alm o s t done with our first school year of online learning. We survived a year of distance learning. We had a hard time adjusting and coping, but I guess we all adapted to this new normal. Everyone is still questioning whether to have face-to-face classes next school year or to continue with online distance learning. Which one will it be? Sure we are aware of the government's vaccination program. But we are not even halfway through the desired percentage of the population that should get the vaccine by now. The front liners may have been the priority with this vaccine program, and yet we still hear that we are not 100% done with them too. The most vulnerable members of society, such as the elderly and those with comorbidities, are having difficulty acquiring their fair share of the vaccine. We are still far from the ideal 'herd immunity.' Based on my observations and the rate at which we are moving in terms of vaccination, I genuinely believe we will need another year to catch up and achieve the desired immunity.

I personally think that face-to-face classes are not possible for the next academic year. We are just not ready. Our health system is still in its worst condition. The government itself cannot even lay out an efficient plan for us to survive this pandemic. We are surviving on our guts, it's like a battle for every one of us, and we cannot rely on anyone else but ourselves and God. People are getting hungry and dying, and yet their grievances fell on deaf ears. If we are still in this dire situation, how can we students feel safe to go out and attend our classes in our respective schools? How will our parents feel confident and stop worrying about us going outside? About us getting sick, or worse, spreading it to other members of our family? How can our teachers survive their daily battles of going to school, working, and coming home to their families, praying they do not infect them as well? It is impossible to compare online learning to traditional classroom learning. It can never replace the actual imparting of knowledge the teachers share with us during schooldays. It is far from the personal interaction we long for with our classmates and friends. It will never take place in the experience of going to school, struggling, and yet finishing off our academic year with flying colors. But this is our only option right now. It may not be the best, but this is for everyone's good. Not only for us students or our teachers but our families. We will see each other again, rekindle those personal longings we have for our classmates and friends. Let us do our share in healing our country.

Temperature change, as we all know, is the long-term alteration of temperature and regular weather patterns in an area, and it can refer to a specific location or the entire Earth. But isn’t that true that global climate change caused by human activities? More visits and seriously time of year, storms, warm waves, rising ocean levels, softening icy masses, and warming seas can straightforwardly hurt creatures, devastate the places they live, and wreak devastation on people's livelihoods and communities. We should always know that as temperature change worsens, weather events have come more frequent or severe. One of the active environmental organizations within the Philippines is that the Greenpeace Philippines organization. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that acts to vary attitudes and behavior, protect and conserve the environment, and promote peace. Greenpeace's presence contributed to the safeguarding of the Filipino’s constitutional
rights for balanced and healthful ecology. It opened its office in Manila on March 1, 2000. Greenpeace, together with its allies and working with communities, has worked to champion renewable energy, combat illegal fishing, and campaign for clean oceans, back and intensify the call of the Filipinos for climate equity and call for the end of poisonous chemicals in our environment. Nowadays, Greenpeace Philippines proceeds to make a positive alter within the lives of millions of Filipinos as the nation endeavors to develop and create a feasible future.

People love biodiversity, yet when it comes to human diversity, some individuals prefer to overlook it. If someone sees a person of different culture and color, they'll discriminate against them for not being the same. I see this as an immense difficulty that may affect society and its ways. The unjust treatment of individuals and groups based on qualities like race, color, age, beliefs, and sexual orientation is called discrimination. Many people discriminate because of their differences, which we should prevent. Discrimination is an issue that we have faced from the beginning of time. It has caused a lot of damage to the people who went through it. They are hated purely for being themselves. We must resolve this immediately. I haven't personally witnessed discrimination, but I am mindful of the suffering and harm it can cause. I saw numerous documentaries and articles on what they went through, how they felt, and what they had to endure due to prejudice and discrimination. I am also a witness to discrimination here in the country I live in, the Philippines. Growing up, I see people ignoring or giving weird stares to foreigners, especially black people. I'd see them whisper badly to each other at times. As a child, I wasn't too aware that this was wrong, so I just shrugged it off. But as a teenager, I'm now informed that doing that is racist. Giannie Lee, an In Real Life Twitch streamer, is one of the well-known victims of racism. She
often streams while walking or traveling in various locations, showcasing the area's beauty to her audience. Many of her videos have gone viral on Twitter, YouTube, and Tiktok, and a majority of them are pre-COVID. These cases demonstrate that Asian racism happened even long before Corona took over. Two men interrupted her as she was eating in one clip, and they began to stretch their eyes horizontally and blabber gibberish. They mocked her race and kind, while she just smiled and tried to convince the men to leave her alone. She seemed helpless, and no one intervened or even bothered to assist her. One woman who was there the whole time did nothing but laughed it off as if it was a funny joke. She strikes me as a mentally and emotionally strong woman. To think she went through all of that while doing nothing but something she loves. I'm not sure how I'd treat such racist humans if I were in her shoes. I'm sure I'd yell angrily at them while Giannie tries to remain composed when it occurs to her. I saw some videos of her crying, but she tried to brighten up quickly for her viewers. Though sometimes some cheer for her and compliment her, I find it heartwarming because she deserves it. But again, I cried just thinking about what she went through and felt. I was disappointed to learn that racism and discrimination still existed in 2021 and that individuals had to deal with them regularly. It sickened me that people would find these racist and mocking jokes amusing. It makes me wonder whether those adults realize what they're doing or if their brains are stuck in the phase of humorous racist jokes. This issue affects everyone, not just Asians. It involves black people, Muslims, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, and many others. Any-
thing that deviates from their type of people, discrimination has a potential to happen. Aspects such as age, faith, sexual identity, ethnicity, color, and abilities all play a role. I'm not sure why these differences have to be a concern. People seem to adore diversity in wildlife, but when it comes to humans, do they discriminate? Then they turn racist? I'm perplexed. I figured they wanted variety? Many that are discriminating seem to be looking for a type of variety. However, this is not possible because individuals come in various sizes, genders, shades, and other characteristics. Nobody is the same, and you must understand this. The world will not change to accommodate your desires. I'm hopeful that this issue will come to an end soon. Remember, LGBTQ+ people are still human, and love is love. If you're a Muslim or Hindu person, you can worship your God, for that's what you believe. If you're a PWD, you may have a disease or injury, but that doesn't mean you're not equal. If you have a different race, that's how you're born, and you can't change it. Please bear
in mind that displaying discrimination would not fix or benefit anyone. Let our differences not be the reason for our separation but rather our key to unification.

Perspectives and Differences Growing up, I realized that there are differences between you, me, and everyone. Specifically, I am talking about our differences through our perspectives. If I look at the sky and see a cloud-shaped dragon, you might say that it is a cloud-shaped eagle. I am sure we all went through that point in life where your friend likes something else more than what you had in mind. It amazes me how you and I have the same brains but quite different perceptions. Thus, making us perfectly imperfect, perfectly diverse. When it comes to lifestyles, some say becoming picture-perfect is the way to live life. While others believe that hard work with patience is the key. Then others say that both good looks and good behavior are the ideal way of life. Then when it comes to colors, others like pink, while some like yellow or blue better. Opinions and arguments would never end, for we all have different visions. We all have mixed views, ideas, mindsets, and words, all with various meanings. The possibilities of endless opinions are widespread. They lead from one end to another like how a river flows gently to the sea of thoughts and connects to another hundred rivers. Humans are different from one another, whether through looks, manners, and characteristics. Even if you compare a twin to their twin sibling to the slightest detail, their fingerprints may not even be the same. It does not irritate me, but rather it fascinates me to the deepest core. Life as a human being, this life of ours has no same other. No matter how

We do not simply rely on the quick movement itself; we also rely on our minds, thinking about what to do in a dangerous situation. Should we be proud of OFWs? Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), often nicknamed the “Modern Day Heroes” by both the media and public for all the hardships that they experience while working abroad. Not only that, but OFWs also play a significant part in sustaining the economy of the country. For this reason, I have always respected and thought of them highly. However, as a country, having OFWs or the fact that citizens need to work in another country to have a source of income is not good in any way as it only shows that a country lacks employment opportunities. Well, there would still be a lot of things to learn and opportunities to learn in this one-of-a-kind lifetime. All of this is part of being different, and after all, this was all from my perspective. A way to fix that is by creating new jobs, raising the minimum wage, and establishing proper work. So, the country can earn more money, and the government should also make more tourist places, take care of the environment, and improve anything related to tourism. Due to the lack of sufficient resources to export, resulting in low incomes for citizens, which is the second reason some Filipinos go abroad. This situation does not make sense, especially given the abundance of exportable resources in the Philippines. The problem is with the government; they should learn how to conserve and use the resources for the better instead of “exporting” people as slaves. The govern-
ment should allow people to mine for minerals once again and stop the mindset of stopping it because it “destroys the environment". Mining is a necessity for a country to improve. Take China as an example. They have a lot of columbite-tantalite, which contains tantalum, which is utilized widely in the electronic industry. The third is probably because of the lack of jobs available here. Accounting is one of the most common courses that every parent wants for their children because it gives them an easy chance to find a job. This action results in a limited variety of jobs available in the country. People who find interest in doing something that is not as well-received as the others will decide to work abroad for their passion.

uring mid-2020, influencers, YouTubers, and celebrities mostly got involved in some important matters about COVID-19. A year ago, the viral Filipino dancer-choreographer Rhemuel ‘Dj Loonyo’ Lunio’s comments about mass testing were one of the unforgettable happenings the netizens have called out. A live stream hosted by a local hip-hop artist Mr. Mainit-Kenjhons and Dj Loonyo had a say-so on mass testing. He was claiming it as a “trial and error” method of vaccination in contrast to hosting tests to know if people have contracted the novel coronavirus or not. My question is, why would you conduct mass testing? If ever you claim that this vaccine is 100% ef f ect i v e, why would you conduct mass testing? Right? Meaning, I pity t h e people

Pixie Dust's only ingredient is Magnesium Citrate. It is a saline laxative expected to work by increasing fluid in the small intestine. Pixie Dust is severely overpriced too. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the product on the 27th of November with her four other products because these are not medicine but food supplements. Dr. Farrah also has a distributor for
her product named Brilliant Skin Essentials. The product is banned, however, the company is doing something illegal to distribute them. Glenda Dela Cruz, the company's CEO, had COVID-19 and got hospitalized. After feeling better, she promoted Boston C. Even if it is lacking research, she was claiming that she got better due to the product. Garlic being a portion of the best herbal treatments is another example of a word from her. Farrah says if you have a toothache, hypertension, migraines, or cancer, the best thing for you is garlic. Garlic is a good medicinal plant but it does not treat migraines or cancer, making this claim of her wrong. A portion of her products is Boston C. A coconut-based, fruit and herbal extracts to combat cancer. Other ingredients of the product are "garlic, soursop (guyamano), bitter melon (ampalaya), lemongrass (tanglad), tomato, kamias, salay, pandan, star apple (caimito), banaba leaves, ascorbic acid, and citric acid." According to Antonio R. Agustin, a Filipino herbal scientist, he proved that the Boston-C Herbal Supplements are useful in combating stage IV cancer diseases. "Ninety percent of the tumors disappeared in just 10 days," "tumors of any size could disappear com-
pletely even before the treatment is over," "Boston C has also been able to heal prostate, bone, brain cancers, bronchial asthma cirrhosis of the liver, diabetes, swelling, sinuses, and many more," "this God-given supplement can cure all illnesses that science or modern medicine can’t cure." There are also lots of testimonies about Boston C, but testimonies are not evidence. They are stories. A doctor on Youtube named Doc Adam said that he found no evidence that Boston C can cure cancer. It is suspicious that Dr. Farrah's clinic got shut down for unregistered products and it was also the FDA that shut down her clinic. According to testimony, Dr. Farrah somehow guessed the type of cancer and stage of cancer of the patient by just touching the lump and putting the patient on a specific diet. The diet made the patient's tumor smaller however she was starving to death. The patient started eating and unfortunately, it started growing again. The reason why the patient's tumor got smaller was because she was starving. The tumor became less than its usual size, but cancer never left. If somebody has cancer, it is better to start eating more because the less you eat, the sicker you get.
