CREATIVE STEPS WINS BIG AT POKER TOURNAMENT

Players went all in at a great fundraising poker tournament held at Neftin Westlake Mazda on March 24. The event was organized by John Grace, event chair and board member of the nonprofit Aurelia Foundation’s Creative Steps program. Creative Steps was founded in 2012. The community-based program enriches the lives of young adults who have aged out of their high school education programs and are seeking a quality day program designed to provide lifelong learning and support. According to Bob Charney, Aurelia Foundation CEO, “Creative Steps is a highly regarded individualized program for adults with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for community integration and inclusion, enhanced communication skills, vocational training and job support, access to cultural experiences, and more—all designed to increase independence and self-advocacy.” The poker tournament raised over $24,000.
