Oaks Christian School

Oaks Christian School is launching a new 4th-grade level.

Oaks Christian School is excited to expand their academic offerings this fall by adding a new 4th-grade level for the 2023–2024 academic year. They anticipate a total of 20–40 spaces available in the new 4th grade. Tuition for 4th grade will be offered at $29,750 for the 2023–2024 academic year. Due to the limitation of space, unfortunately, no financial assistance will be available for 4thgrade applicants.

If you are interested in enrolling your student for 4th grade, please complete the application at oakschristian.org or contact the admissions office at 818.824.9492 as soon as possible. To date, they have been contacted by many families and anticipate a brisk and brief enrollment period. Tours may be scheduled after March 6th.

Westlake Yacht Club Junior Sailing Academy

This summer, the Westlake Yacht Club will, once again, conduct its Summer Junior Sailing Academy for students ages 9 to 17, headed by Rear Commander Greg Morrow. Recognized in 2018 as the Best Junior Sailing Program on the West Coast by the Pacific Coast Yachting Association, this program is great for kids to learn to begin sailing or sharpen their skills for racing if they have prior experience.

There are eight weekly sessions starting the week of June 12th through August 11th, Monday through Friday, with a break over the July 4th holiday. Students are encouraged to register for multiple sessions beginning April 1st. Lessons include classroom instructions and supervised, hands-on lake sailing to learn boat rigging, docking, racing, and emergency preparedness while sailing on 15 single-handed RS-Tera, Lasers and C14 double-handed racing dinghies. Students must have basic swimming skills, wear a life jacket, and weigh at least 60 pounds.
