Battle Of The Bands For Lvusd

The Foundation for Las Virgenes Unified School District rocked the Canyon Club in Agoura to raise money at the Battle of the Bands event on Sunday, February 5. Bands included Dads of Distinction and Hacienda Garage Band, along with specials guests Threshold, PRIMI, and Nick Hexum of 311. Dan Stepenosky, superintendent at LVUSD, and his band named Doc Step and The Expendables also performed a fabulous and memorable rendition of Tina Turner’s hit song “Simply the Best” to give a great shoutout to the board, parents, kids, and volunteers that make LVUSD such an amazing school district. Executive board members Mark Madnick, Monica Parmar, Steve Litwin, and Andrew Wohlwend were thrilled with the turnout, which raised over $10,000 to be used to provide more teachers and more counselors needed to maintain the excellence of the LVUSD schools. Congratulations to PRIMI from Calabasas High School—the winner of the Battle of the Bands!
