Mike is a native Ohioan and, from an early age, was always in or around water, especially Lake Erie. He graduated with a B.S. in environmental science and a B.A. in communication from The Ohio State University in 2001. Mike worked as a watershed manager for nonprofits and health departments before becoming a public information officer in emergency preparedness for Columbus Public Health. Mike decided to move to California in 2014, eager to work again in the water industry. He began his new adventure in California at Palmdale Water District and then the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California before finding his most recent home at Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) as the public affairs and communications manager.

Mike is passionate about his role at LVMWD as his position affords him the opportunity to follow his ambitions of environmental stewardship, modern communications, sustainability, and community engagement. Under his leadership, the LVMWD Public Affairs Team expanded communications to homeowners and local businesses about the importance of water conservation and has helped to enshrine the district as a leader in the California water industry by promoting the new Pure Water Project Las Virgenes-Triunfo

This is absolutely critical to the future growth and success of our region.”

Mike also plays a pivotal role as chairman of the board for the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce. He has served in this position for three years and understands that the Chamber plays a crucial role in helping the local businesses and our local economy stay strong. Mike’s genuine and authentic goal to help local businesses succeed, combined with his business development and networking capabilities, has greatly benefitted the Chamber and the community at large.

Mike has a passion for people, educating the community, all water-related topics, climate change, environmental awareness, equality, inclusivity, and learning from others.
