Howdy, omnes! I cannot express how much of an absolute blast it has been serving as your CAJCL 2020-2021 Historian! Maximas gratias ago vobis for an absolutely groovy year!

This scrapbook encapsulates our year as a state! I have included the winners of our Photo of the Month Contest and Monthly Iocus (meme) Contest for each month, in order to showcase the contributions of the broader CAJCL community! Although it was not ideal, I hope you CAJCLers look back on this year as fondly as I do. Sincerely, Sadie Almgren CAJCL Historian 2020-2021

this

The theme for this scrapbook is “sibi quisque ruri metit… ut terram meliorem locum faciat", meaning “each one harvests one’s own farm… in order to make the Earth a better place”. This theme is all about contributions to a community, and I firmly believe that the CAJCL would be nothing without the spirited community that upholds it. I couldn’t think of a more relevant theme to represent this year of the California Junior Classical League. Despite a pandemic, destruction caused by California wildfires, and political turmoil in our country, the spirit of the CAJCL persisted because each and every CAJCLer contributed their spirit, knowledge, and artistic talent. For that, I appreciate each and every one of you for making the CAJCL a better place this year!
