Historian ' s Note

Salvete Omnes! What a year it has been! I have had a fantastic time serving as your CAJCL 2021-2022 Historian! Thank you all for making my experience such a memorable one!

This year ’ s theme for the scrapbook is “Cantantes licet usque (minus via laedit) eamus, ” which translates

to

“Let us go singing as far as we go - the road will be less tedious ” . This theme means the beginning of a new journey shared by a community. To me, this perfectly encapsulates the experience the California Junior Classical League community felt during the transition from a pandemic to a somewhat return to normal life. CAJCLers are a perfect example of a community that faces new challenges and journeys by banding together and making the most of each situation all the while staying in spirit. This year ’ s scrapbook encompasses the journey CAJCLers took as a state this year. Within the scrapbook, I have included the monthly winners for the Photo of the Month Contest, Iocus of the Month Contest (Meme), and the Roman Holiday of the Month Contest. All photos have been submissions from CAJCLers and their Chapters.

I hope CAJCLers have as much fun looking back on the year as I have through this scrapbook!
