Message

from

the

Children’s

Health

Foundation In the

past

decade

the

Canadian

Asian

International

Student

Association

In

(CAISA)

has

raised

an

incredible

$116,770

for

Children’s

Health

Foundation.

Their

support

has

helped

to

fund

vital

research

such

as

Epigenetic

Research

at

Children’s

Health

Research

Institute

and

a

medical

conference

room

in

the

Paediatric

Critical

Care

Unit

at

Children’s

Hospital,

London

Health

Sciences

Centre,

which

enables

physicians

and

medical

students

to

meet,

learn

and

pre-­ pare

care

plans

for

their

young

patients.

This

year

funds

raised

will

be

used

to

support

the

Opportunity

to

Participate

pro-­ This gram

at

Thames

Valley

Children’s

Centre.

The

goal

of

Opportunities

to

Partici-­ pate

is

to

ensure

all

children

with

disabilities

throughout

Southewestern

Ontario

receive

every

possible

chance

to

successfully

reach

their

full

potential,

become

integral

and

valued

members

of

society

and

lead

healthy

fulfilled

lives.

These

kinds

of

programs

offer

children

with

disabilities

and

their

families

a

chance

to

discover

their

interests

and

abilities

through

participation

in

art,

sport,

leisure

and

recreation.

These

opportunities

have

ranged

from

providing

supported

experi-­ ences

in

a

small

pool

environment

for

an

initial

water

experience,

to

community

based

inclusive

programs

such

as

Gymnastics

and

Karate

partnership

pro-­ grams.

Children’s

Health

Foundation

is

very

grateful

for

CAISA’s

ongoing

support.

Whether

it’s

jewelry

or

ice

cream

sales,

recruiting

corporate

sponsors

or

sharing

proceeds

of

ticket

sales

to

their

many

event,

it

is

very

inspiring

to

CAISA

has

integrated

charitable
