What began as an effort to memorialize a great man following his untimely death has now transpired into one of the greatest show ring and dairy traditions in North America. The Klussendorf Memorial Trophy is the highest recognition awarded to a dairy cattle showman- selected by peers who are previous honorees. Recipients exemplify sportsmanship, ability and endeavor.
Recognizing the importance of supporting future dairy leaders, the Klussendorf Association manages and awards both the Klussendorf Scholarship and McKown Scholarship, working with National Dairy Shrine to hold and invest money.
The Klussendorf and McKown Scholarships began in 2008 and are awarded annually. Since their inception, $147,000 has been distributed to 98 youth with the average amount of $1,500!
Students who have completed their first, second, or third years at a 2 or 4 year collge or university in the US or Canada are eligible to apply. Visit www.dairyshrine.org for application and details.
