The full material lifecycle

Our aim is to reduce the volume of total waste produced on the Estate, and maximise reuse and recycling, in accordance with the circular economy. This requires a holistic approach: working in partnership with retailers to understand what materials they use and dispose of (particularly packaging), and then providing targeted waste solutions. Through 2022 this led to the introduction of new waste streams, including food and cartons, and impacted purchasing decisions of retailers, away from plastic and towards recyclable and reusable items. This not only improves recycling rates but also streamlines processes, reduces vehicle journeys, and aims to reduce costs.
