THE STRATFORD FESTIVAL A Festival That’s A Feast

Stratford is synonymous with theatre and, as befits a city with a river Avon, the classical works of Shakespeare take a leading role. But that’s not all. With a season that runs from April to October, Stratford, with its four theatres, offers a full program of productions to keep theatre-goers happy. Follow Shakespeare’s tragedies, laugh at his comedies, or take in the Festival’s selection of lighter, contemporary fare and musicals. With its packed season of performances, Stratford is definitely not much ado about nothing.

The Little Prince Mini Cinema

Located in a former pump house, Gallery Stratford is the artistic heart of the city. Take in the contemporary art of its interior spaces then head outside and make the surrounding parkland the jumping off point for a walk in which nature and art find their common ground.

With just 13 seats this mini cinema justifies its title as being the World’s Smallest Purpose Built Cinema and yes, it does screen films for the general public, as well as being a favourite event spot! Unlimited popcorn and soda come with a ticket – and that’s no small feat!

Matilda Swanson Art Gallery Specializing in contemporary art and local and regional artists, the emphasis is on bold, bright and Canadian. From landscapes to paintings that pop with contemporary images and colour, this is the gallery where you’ll find that ideal art piece!

Street Art Stratford’s a colourful art-centric community and its famous street art just adds that element of pop even more. Where? In the city’s alleys, on hydro boxes, and on the side of buildings.
