The Trevi District and its Fountain: Astonishment and Desire

The Trevi Fountain in Rome, and its district, is the first of the 12 Roman Walks: a complete plan of the work is published on the back of the pull-out poster.

The Walk is not a tourist attraction, but a project conceived for artistic and photographic purposes: - maximum focus on the main monument and its location (Trevi Fountain) - to follow the Acqua Vergine Aqueduct’s route - to include places in the district with visual, artistic and guaranteed photographic charm - easy-to-reach places - places with free-entry.

The Photographic Walk: - is about a 3-hour walk - includes 12 “photo” stops in places of interest in the district (the exact route can be found on the following pages).

Photographers-readers are invited to enrich the route proposed by Roman Walks as they see fit.

The narration of the Walk is on 2 levels: - the main artistic, historical, tourist text, - text with tips for taking photos in the columns down the side of the pages.

Giovanni Paolo Pannini (in the left-hand photo) takes you through the Trevi District; he also painted the painting of the Fountain on the left.
