CARDIFF VOLUNTEER AWARDS N O V 13 | 4PM V I A M I C ROSOFT TE A M S

About C3SC About: One of our priorities here at C3SC is to keep you informed about what’s happening in the third sector in Cardiff, including funding opportunities, events and training, and other support – to equip you in the essential work you’re doing. What we do: Cardiff Third Sector Council exists to support and develop Cardiff’s third sector. Working with the Welsh Government and WCVA, we are committed to increasing the knowledge and skills of the sector to ensure that groups and organisations in Cardiff can make themselves sustainable and meet the needs of their communities. Our four pillars: Good Governance - Our main priority is to provide a suite of support for Trustees of local third sector services to share and develop good governance and financial management practices. This will position more third sector services and activities to make a sustainable contribution to wellbeing in the community. Volunteer - Our priority is supporting volunteering, ensuring good quality, inclusive and accessible opportunities can be entered into by increasing numbers of people from a diversity of backgrounds. Participation and Engagement - In Cardiff, statutory and voluntary sectors recognise the value of, and are committed to, the principle of partnership: working together to plan and develop communities, and deliver a wide range of services to the people of Cardiff. Funding and Advice - Ensuring your organisation has enough money to carry out all its aims can be one of the biggest headaches for third sector organisations. Services: We help with: setting up community groups, funding and sustainability, one-to-one specialist support, payroll, training and networking.

About C3SC

What is the Cardiff Volunteer Awards? The Cardiff Volunteer Awards is C3SC’s annual award ceremony held to celebrate volunteering in Cardiff. It is an opportunity to recognise the contributions and achievements of volunteers, community groups and organisations for their hard work and for going above and beyond to support everyone in our communities. The Cardiff Volunteer Awards not only gives us here at C3SC the chance to thank and reward all of our volunteers, community groups and organisations for their incredible support, but also an opportunity to members of the public to do the same by nominating volunteers, community groups and organisations in Cardiff that made a difference to them and or their community. It has been an extraordinary year for volunteering, especially with the volunteers’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic, so please join us to celebrate the effort volunteers, community groups and organisations as well as front-line workers have made to assist our local communities in Cardiff.

How the event will look like in the face of COVID-19? Under normal circumstances, the Cardiff Volunteer Awards ceremony would be held as a large in-person event. However, under this pandemic and as we take the health and safety of our staff and the public seriously, this year's Award ceremony will be held online.

What does this mean? The ceremony will still be the same format as previous years, except this year it will be done through a virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams at 4 PM. The link to join will be posted on our social media and website soon. The event is scheduled for 1 hour but please allow up to one and half hours and please log in 15 minutes early (in case of any digital challenge that may arise). For a smooth virtual/online Award ceremony, please write your name and/or organisation you represent when you first log in. Please only turn your microphone on when requested to do so. You may turn your camera on at all times and when requested to do so if you consent to C3SC and members of the public taking photos of attendees and the ceremony, which are likely to be shared online and on Social Media. We advise to have with you some snacks and keep hydrated to beat the ‘Zoom fatigue’!

Although this year the event will be online, we are working very hard to ensure it is still a fantastic day for everyone.
