SOUTHERN SARATOGA YMCA RENOVATION PROJECT C2 is providing architectural design services for renovations to the existing Southern Saratoga YMCA located in Clifton Park, NY. Modifications to the 40,000 SF space will address space planning and programmatic needs to allow the YMCA to grow and better serve it’s current membership. The work will include interior renovations creating a new youth wing, lobby with connecting stair and common spaces. The wellness and studio areas will be refreshed with new finishes. The need for a universal locker room and spin studio were identified and will be new additions for members. The Aquatics area will benefit from a new pool deck and lighting. Additionally, a new splash pad is being created. The exterior facade will be modernized with new cladding and signage creating a welcoming entrance. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring.
C2 ATTENDED NORTHSIDE VILLAGE RIBBON CUTTING November 3, 2023 C2 attended the grand opening ceremony celebrating the completion of Northside Village, the second phase of an extensive public housing revitalization of Yates Village in Schenectady's Goose Hill neighborhood. The success of this project is tied to the collaborative efforts and vision of the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority (SMHA), Pennrose, Duvernay + Brooks, LLC, the State, the City of Schenectady, the New York State Homes & Community Renewal, Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority and numerous development team partners. Today, Northside Village offers residents 211 newly constructed apartments, including 42 with supportive services for individuals with physical disabilities, replacing antiquated housing that reached the end of its lifespan.

Continued Northside Village Ribbon Cutting Phase II of the project entailed the demolition of six, two-story buildings that were replaced with 37 newly constructed two-story buildings featuring 211 apartments. The apartments include 69 one-bedroom units, 108 two-bedroom units, 29 three-bedroom units and 5 fourbedroom units. In addition, phase II enhanced on-site amenities for the community, including two new playgrounds, a basketball court, a resident seating area, and landscaped greenspaces. Northside Village adheres to energy efficiency and green building standards required for certification from Enterprise Green Communities and Energy Star for Certified Homes. Energy efficient measures at Northside Village include LED interior and exterior lighting, Energy Star appliances, and electric vehicle charging stations.
All apartments are Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) units affordable to household earnings at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income. State financing for the $88 million Northside Village Phase II project included $18 million in permanent tax-exempt bonds, $35 million in federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and $26 million in subsidy from New York State Homes and Community Renewal. HCR also provided over $20 million in support for the first phase. C2 was retained by WRT, LLC as an architectural teammate for Phase II. WRT was involved with the first phase of redevelopment and invited C2 to be the architect of record for the second phase of the redevelopment. C2's scope of services included design for the addition of the 37 newly constructed building, the renovation of 173 units, and renovation of the one-story Management Building.

C2 ATTENDED RIBBON CUTTING FOR TRUE PICKLE BALL CLUB October 19, 2023 C2 attended the ribbon cutting and for the new True Pickle Ball Club in Latham, New York on Thursday, October 12, 2023. C2 is honored to have been the interior designer for this new facility. The design for this new, 20,000 SF club features six courts, courtsides cabanas, pro shop and food area. At the back of the facility, overlooking the sixth “CDPHP Championship Court,” there’s a club room with barstools, dining tables, chairs, a foosball table and a fireplace.
C2 ATTENDED RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR NEW TRUSTCO BANK SLINGERLANDS BRANCH November 1, 2023 C2 team members attended the ribbon cutting for the new Trustco Bank branch that opened at 400 Maple Road in Slingerlands, New York on Monday, October 23, 2023. C2 worked with Trustco to apply its branding and materials to the new, 2,000 +/-SF fit-up. The C2 team focused on developing an efficient use of space to elevate the customer's experience. Design for the fit-up included new ceilings, finishes, flooring, lobby seating area, restrooms, LED lighting, and new furniture.

C2 WELCOMED NEW TEAM MEMBERS Alainah Rosencrance Architectural Designer C2 Design Group is pleased to announce the hiring of Alainah Rosencrance as architectural designer for their Schenectady office. She joined C2 on Monday, October 16, 2023. Alainah Rosencrance
Rosencrance brings over six years of experience designing and developing a wide range of education, commercial, and interior design projects. Her experience includes all phases of the design process, from concept development to construction documents and administration. She is a graduate of Marywood University with a bachelor’s in architecture.

C2 POST HOLIDAY PARTY The C2 team kicked off the 2024 year celebrating together at our annual, post holiday party. The event took place at The Coat Room in downtown Saratoga Springs. Staff enjoyed trying different craft cocktails, mocktails, and indulged in a mix of delicious gourmet appetizers and food.
