What made you choose a career in real estate?

My degree is in Business Management. After a year in the corporate world I knew I wanted to do something that would utilize my professional strengths while also catering to my desire to help people. Real Estate seemed to fit what I was looking for! When I told my mom I was going to be a Realtor she decided to join me on this career path! Not long after, my uncle moved to town to join the team. We have since added two additional team members and are known as The Family Team.

It's so cool to look back on how it all started and where we are headed.

What is your main way to expand your client base?

My goal in this business is to grow organically. When I started in the industry I made a promise to myself that I would never treat prospective clients in a way I wouldn’t want to be treated.

While this slow simmering approach isn’t for everyone- for me it has led to amazingly loyal and happy clients. I treat my clients like family and strive to earn their trust and respect and become their go-to person for all things home related.

What advice would you give someone considering Real Estate as a career?

Social media isn’t real! With so many Real Estate tv shows and influencers out there- it’s easy to fall into the comparison trap. The beauty of Real Estate is you can make it into what YOU want it to be. But you can’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.

What do you like most about Fort Wayne?

I’m a Fort Wayne native and it has been so cool to watch it grow into the city it is today. I love our many unique restaurants, the trail system, and the wineries that have come to town. It is so fun to introduce my out of town clients to our city and watch them make it their home too!

How do you stand out from other Realtors?

I think every Realtor comes to the business for very different reasons. For me, I want to help people as they make one of life’s largest purchases. I value education and will educate my clients throughout the entire process. Using my past experiences and the wonderful professionals (lenders, vendors, inspectors, etc.) I surround myself with, I provide my clients with efficient and well researched information. I never want my clients to look back and think “what if?”

What motivates you?

Goals for the next 5 years

My family is my motivation. I have a wonderful husband and 3 amazing kids. I love that they have watched me grow as a Realtor and they cheer me on every step of the way.

With the weird hours and unpredictable schedule that come with this career, it truly is a family effort to make it work sometimes!

I hope to expand my team with agents that hold similar values to mine. I enjoy watching my teammates grow their business and always hope to be a source of support, assistance, and camaraderie. In an industry where every transaction is different, I love having a supportive and positive team to turn to.
