CANDICE EVERAGE-SMITH

REALTOR®

What made you choose a career in real estate?

I have always loved helping people. My passion for real estate stems from a combination of a love for architecture and design, the desire to make a positive impact on the people around me as well as watching my client’s eyes light up when we walk into the house of their dreams. It is so fun handing them the keys and seeing the smile on their faces at the closing table.

What strategies do you use to keep updated on market trends and changes?

I work for a great company who always makes sure that we have plenty of education on every change that happens in the real estate industry. I also look at the MLS daily to see how fast homes are selling and the price they are selling for. Every home is different. I also have a lot of great mortgage lenders that send me daily updates about rates and trends.

What is your main way to expand your client base?

Referrals referrals referrals! I am always honored to serve anyone that comes my way for real estate help, especially if they are referred to me from a past client that had a great experience with me.

Do you have any goals for the next 5 years?

I want to be successful in my own way. I believe that success looks different to every person in the real estate industry. Being able to have a large client base that will call me FIRST for any needs as well as having a steady stream of referrals is my biggest goal. That means I am consistently providing great service to my clients for them to trust me with the biggest purchase in their lives.

Do you plan on specializIng in a particular type of real estate?

Residential is my favorite. In the future, I would love to specialize in luxury properties but I am truly grateful for every opportunity that comes my way.

Is there anyone that you regard highly as a mentor?

Dana Myers-Botteron. She supports me in every move I make, encourages me to keep pushing forward and makes sure I feel confident in every decision. That woman is resilient. I truly love her with all of my heart. The work she puts in for her clients and our team is honestly incredible and an inspiration to many, including myself.

Can you share a memorable story you have from real estate?

Once I was showing an investment property to some clients of mine and we found a bunch of baby raccoons in a detached garage. They were all really cute but definitely not what I expected that day!

Is there any advice you would give to someone interested in making real estate a career?

Real estate is fun, no doubt about that, but it is HARD work. If you think you can create your own schedule and work when you want, that is NOT the case. As a Realtor, I am here to serve my clients. Key word: serve. Be prepared for long days and nights, sacrificing time for others and budgeting. Sometimes you won’t sell a home every month and sometimes you will sell multiple homes in a month. It is not all sunshine and rainbows like everyone thinks it is!

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

I am so incredibly grateful for each and every opportunity I get to help someone make their homeownership dreams become reality. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to ALL of my amazing clients for trusting me with the biggest purchase of their lives and if you know of anyone looking to buy, sell, build or invest in real estate - I am ALWAYS here! I would love to help you find your way home!
