Project Objective: With an understanding in how to create a furniture library and furniture budget plan (Microsoft Excel; PowerPoint), design the interior of an apartment for a couple who are aging-in-place. Project submittals included a vast range of detailed CAD plans that recognized the implementation Aging in Place codes and standards with the inclusion of a lighting concept layout, schematic building system and controls plan, as well as a customized acoustical consideration. Task/ Skills Obtained: Upon completion of the project, I obtained an understanding in how to create a furniture library, interior finish schedule, and budget plan (Microsoft Excel; Microsoft PowerPoint), for residences that comply with the aging-in-place codes and standards. Through my process of hand rendering three different spaces within
the client’s home, I expanded my knowledge within custom interior architectural elements as well as developed new skills for showcasing design ideas to clients.
