As a form of active protest against dereliction and urban decay within Cork City Centre, 84 students of CCAE took part in an overnight occupation of the Douglas Street Campus on the 9th November 2022. This “Design Charrette” involved students across year groups creating one A3 drawing proposing an alternative life for an existing derelict building within the city centre. This is a catalogue of the completed proposals, intended to spark further debate on how our city might look if the needs of the community took precedent over the needs of investors. This publication is a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Charrette and a call to action to continue this work.
