JACOB HOOPES I dare not say " ‘til we meet again" For I fear we then shall not But I trust despite my absence here You'll remember as I've taught: Be good to others Be a friend See them with kind eyes Forgive often Listen well, and Truly care And of those indifferent Always beware But above all Be the light For when you look about And see only dark clouds And that the joys of day have passed Look around again And be the amber glow That dries the rain at last And so I bid farewell for now But know that I'll be back Hopefully with more answers For the things I've always lacked

I will not be swayed as my thin, pale shape slashes and twists in the wind. As I’m tossed and turned, I feel my determination waning. I could stop this torment. No one would miss me. Just release my hold and fall peacefully to the ground. The air around me is crisp and growing colder. Others around me have fallen. Why couldn’t I follow them? I stay, thinking. I know what I must do now. So I wait for the perfect moment. A large gust of wind blows as a single leaf falls.
