Whether you’re looking to start a new holiday or family tradition, searching for a perfect space to host a bridal or baby shower, or just want an extra special afternoon treat, there’s a spot for you at the Village Cuisine Café for an elegant English high-tea.

Tea Thyme Tuesdays are an intimate affair in the quaint dining room that transforms into a tea room for guests interested in celebrating special occasions with a spot of tea and 3 tiers of tiny treats.

The tables are set with vintage china cups, saucers, and demitasse silverware. Tea service begins with your choice of true English loose leaf curated teas (the same brand the Windsor Queen Elizabeth enjoys), three courses— soup, salad and fruit, followed by a tea tower stacked with assorted cucumber, pimento cheese, and chicken salad tea sandwiches, including the one served at the Queen’s Coronation. Sweet treats such as cakes, cookies, and scones are served with a dollop of cream and jams madein-house from fresh ingredients.

All the food looks beautiful: Salad greens are fresh and bright, and the Chef/Owner Rhonda Meek obviously gives thought to the play of colors as well as flavor.

Rhonda travels once-a-year to England and offers instruction to new tea-thymers on the art of pouring tea.

The elegant tea strainer positioned at each setting is not just a prop. Place it over the teacup before pouring hot steeping tea from the tiny pot. Otherwise, tea leaves will fall into the cup, leaving potential for a not-sosmooth sipping experience.
