Westside Beach Park
This 22 acre hypothetical site was designed by Xiomar Banks as an exercise for CRP 5861: Introduction to Planning Graphics taught by Professors Zac Boggs & Isabel Fernández in the Fall of 2023. This board is the culmination of a semester’s exploration of graphic communication theory, the study of sustainable/resilient development projects and how they are visually communicated to the general public. This end result reflects my grasp of the following industry standard computer programs: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. This particular site is located on the west coast of America, preferably in the pacific northwest. This site features hotels, multi-family housing, restaurants, stores, a transit station, a beach, a stadium, parks, and everything else you can find in a urban setting. Westside Beach Park is a young urban and hip location for people to come bike and walk along the shoreline, bike around town, ride on modern transit, and live near a beach. The transit station is the hub of activity, leading to the Xio-fi Stadium, connecting urban mobility with entertainment, and necessities in such a short distance. Having multi-family housing alongside the beach gives residents an morning ocean view and a beautiful sunset view over the water. Everyone wants to be here, and so do you! So come over to Westside Beach Park and party like it its 1999! 1 Little Green Park 2 Xio-fi Stadium 3 Westside Beach 4 Beach Station (The X)

Shown in the images are an axiomatic view (to the right), and two perspectives (on the bottom). One looking towards the rail station and city (on the bottom left), and the other looking towards the Little Green Park and Xio-fi Stadium (on the bottom left). These perspectives show the importance of the framework map. The map depicts the transit mobility from the station to the stadium. This is how everyone else not living in the 22-acre area will get to the entertainment sector. Everyone else will simply walk there. Also, there are roads for bicyclists to commute as well as underground parking for each hotel, and multi-family residence. Shown in the axiomatic view are rooftop pools for the mixed use buildings. So those who do not want to get in the ocean can still enjoy water during the summer seasons.
