PORT HUDSON

Continued Spotlight

 Fun Fact

Port Hudson is uniquely positioned between sections of the Port Hudson National Cemetery, a historically strategic military site during the Civil War. The area’s past and present are both defined by critical movement and strategic logistics.

 Looking Ahead

As Port Hudson continues to grow, the team’s goals include enhancing safety at select dock doors and continuing to support BWT’s long-term vision through operational excellence and unmatched dedication.

“At Port Hudson, we move with purpose. Every trailer, every shift, every challenge— our team shows up, stands strong, and keeps the operation running no matter what. ”

– Team, Port Hudson, LA

SAFETY FIRST

Safety starts with how we move and that includes protecting our bodies from strain and injury through smart ergonomics.

Ergonomics means designing your work tasks and environment to fit your body, not the other way around. Poor ergonomics can lead to fatigue, discomfort, or even longterm injuries like back strain, joint pain, or repetitive motion injuries.

Here are a few ergonomic tips for daily tasks:

Lift Smart – Always bend at the knees, not your back. Keep the load close to your body.

Stay Aligned – Avoid twisting your body when moving objects pivot with your feet instead.

Take Micro-Breaks – Short pauses to stretch or shift your position help reduce muscle tension.

Use Tools Properly – Whether it's a pallet jack, scanner, or desk chair, use it as intended and adjust it to your height when possible.

Report Discomfort Early – If you feel strain or notice repetitive stress, speak up before it becomes a bigger issue.

Your comfort and safety are part of what keeps our teams strong and productive.
