As I write this article today, it’s 100 degrees in Texarkana, TX, and we are 6 weeks away from our EXPO in Fort Worth, TX. Just as the weather is expected to change by September 8-10, much has changed in the world and our industry over the past 12 months.
Thankfully, the global economic outlook has improved overall, but we need new housing starts to get many sectors of our economy going. Our U.S. economy has improved, aided by new tax cuts, steady job growth, and inflation tamed at under 3%. It seems that all the talk and anxiety about tariffs has not negatively impacted the U.S. economy.
Immigration policies have significantly reduced the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S., and mass deportations have been instituted. Our industry is struggling to find workers for manual labor jobs, competing with other industries for labor.
Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) is changing the world as we know it, with most companies either utilizing AI or at least looking for ways to use AI to become more efficient, improve customer service, and reduce operating costs.
My list is only the tip of the iceberg and certainly not exhaustive.

Do I have to attend the BWI EXPO to receive EXPO specials?
No, the BWI Online EXPO offers the ability to receive specials, discounts, cash spiffs, and Bonus Bucks. BWI Online EXPO even offers our Bulk Buys, Pallet Alley, and Hot Buys selections. So, if you cannot attend in person, you can still take advantage of everything the BWI EXPO offers. Those who attend in person will receive double Bonus Bucks and Bonus Bucks on Hot Buys purchases, which are unavailable online.
How do I arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel?
Downtown Fort Worth is only 17.5 miles from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and about 34 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport. There are a variety of ground transportation options between these airports and downtown.
DFW Airport: App-based transportation network providers are located at the upper level curbside of each terminal. Look for signs indicating “Passenger or Rideshare Pickup”.
Dallas Love Field: The pick-up point for passengers utilizing app-based rides should follow the terminal signs to the south end of parking Garage B to meet their driver.
Taxi
DFW Airport: Ground transportation is located in Terminals A through E on the lower transportation level. Guest assistants can be found at taxi stands between 8 AM and 12 AM to help control the flow and ensure you are placed with a taxi.
Dallas Love Field: The pick-up point for passengers utilizing taxis should follow the terminal signs to the south end of parking Garage B.

How do I place an order?
You place an order using your buyer number that is printed on your name badge provided to you at check-in. You will provide this number to the booth attendant to place your order. Even though BWI has an electronic ordering process, select orders will be collected on paper using the buyer labels. These labels provide us with the necessary information to process your order. Additional buyer labels can be printed at the information booth.
What are the shipping parameters?
Ship dates vary by offering, but our standard ship dates are 12/1/2025, 1/1/2026, and 2/1/2026. Select manufacturers have earlier and later offerings. Do not worry if you need to change a ship date. Your BWI representative can adjust the ship date when reviewing your orders with you after the EXPO.
What are the terms on orders?
Payment terms are due net 60 days or due May 1, 2026 depending on the program (available to accounts in good standing).
Where can I obtain a copy of my order?
BWI suggests you review your orders before check-out. Several kiosks are available on the EXPO show floor. Look for the “Print and Review Orders” signs to locate the kiosks. Order confirmations can be emailed upon request at check-out.
Where do I check-out, collect Cash Spiffs, and Bonus Bucks rewards?
Before checking out, visit one of the “Print and Review Orders” kiosks on the EXPO show floor to print a copy of your order and review for accuracy. If you need to make changes, please visit the information booth for help. Once your orders are final, proceed to the Bonus Bucks booth located in the back/middle of the EXPO show floor, present your buyer number(s), and collect your Bonus Bucks. You can choose to take your Bonus Bucks with you, have them shipped to you, or applied as credit on account.
How do I qualify for EXPO prizes?
To qualify for EXPO prizes, you must purchase from at least 10 exhibitors or have total purchases equaling $50,000.00 or more by drawing time. Several prizes will be drawn Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM with the final drawing for the CanAm LoneStar at 10:30 AM on Wednesday. You do not have to be present to win. In addition to the BWI prizes, many participating exhibitors offer drawings at the show. Be on the lookout for these opportunities. Prizes for this year are featured on page 79.

Cleanouts

While German cockroach cleanouts may come to mind, Ridesco WG is a repellent insecticide and cannot be used with cockroach baits, so it is not ideal for this particular use. It sets the stage by lowering the pest pressure to a level that allows PMP to continue into a maintenance program.
