Homework is work that a student is given to complete at home. It can be research, reading, writing or typing. According to Vatterott (2009), homework is extremely rare to be questioned as it is a long–standing education tradition. The culture of homework has began generations ago. "To be ready for tomorrow's opportunities, do your homework today. Learn, refine your skills, and focus on growth." This quote by an unknown person perfectly demonstrates the importance of homework. What this quote is trying to say is that in order to be prepared for the opportunities life gives you, do your homework first. It'll prepare you for the future. Although homework takestime to finish, it is very beneficial in several different ways. Homework teaches students the importance of responsibility, time management, and self–respect. Assignments given to children from school to do at home, helps students review and remember the lessons taught that day or week. Even if students dislike school work, it is undoubtedly essential.
Definitely, most agree that school work is very tiring. However, they do not realize how homework teaches students responsibility. By doing school work, they have a sense of responsibility which will help them be successful in the future. A company would unquestionably hire a person who knows how to be responsible and will do their work when told. If the person is consistent and is responsible with their work and time, the company will surely promote them. Which means that the person will be paid higher, feel better about themselves, and will try harder to earn the company's trust. The benefits of responsibility and homework are unmistakable. Responsibility will also help students get better grades. People know they are responsible for their grades and their assignments getting completed. So if they take the initiative to finish their homework, then their effort will show through how well they're doing in school. Good grades mean getting into good colleges and universities. Through responsibilities, students learn that they are accountable for their actions and know they will have consequences if they don't do something. An example of taking responsibility is when a student hasn't done their homework. The teacher punishes the student by not letting the student go home after school has ended. The student learns the importance of homework and responsibility. Next time, the student should finish their homework. As seen in the example, by not doing homework, the Get more content
Gemless As I parked in the gravel filled lot I settled in my car for a few minutes contemplating homework from each of my classes. I stepped outside with my belongings; there was a slight breeze from the remnants of Hurricane Harvey. Clouds dotted the orange tinted sky as the sun tried to climb up to be fully seen. The day right from the start seemed like a good day so I went about smiling and walked blissfully to my normal seat next to my friends. We prepared for the coming classes that day. The deafening bell sounded and we were on our way to start the actual day. My classmates and I walked joyfully through the hallways, joking and laughing before reaching our first period destination. I made my way to the front of the classroom and sat down. The air was crisp so I took out my jacket and put it on. Our teacher walked in a few minutes late and started to take attendance. The whole classroom focused on him. After he finished taking attendance, he slowly reached down into a drawer and pulled out a stack of papers. I stared in disbelief. The stack of papers he pulled out was actually a pop–test. I took the pop–test trying to recall everything that we had learned over the course of two weeks. I focused on the test for most of the class period and finally turned it in. The morning weather seemed to just be a ruse. This was not a blissful or good day; it took a turn for the worst. I sat there in the chilling room trying to think of something else to keep Get more content
A high schooler comes home from school. He gets out his homework and gets started. The mom of the student said start your homework and then we will eat.The mom spends an hour at dinner, but the student is not done with his homework. He is asking his dad all types of questions, but he is too busy to help. That happens every day at this family home. When the boy got his test scores back later in the year, they were so low. Students have busy lifestyles and stress at home. They need time away from studies to appreciate what they learn. There are so many things that can help them prepare for life outside of school and giving a lot of homework causes stress to the student and family. I wanted to find a way to get schools to cut down on homework. Too many kids are doing badly on a test because of the time constraints and stress to complete homework. So let's do something about it. When I was researching, I asked myself "How can I get schools to cut down on homework?"After all the research that I did, it was clear to me that we can help the kids in school to have less homework. Statistics about too much homework are illuminating: too much homework can lead to being counterproductive. After a school day, kids come home and do their homework that can cause stress to a family that has other needs or issues, such as low income. Too much homework can have a negative effect because they might be from a home that doesn't have everything they need. They might not have parents or older siblings

Importance Of Homework
"Tal!" "What mom!" "Did you finish your homework?" "No," I was tired. I had lots of homework but it was only 5:00. I had 4 hours before nine. That was when I had to sleep. Or in my case, play games on my iPad until I become sleepy and I realize I didn't finish my homework. I'm Tal. I'm a 13 year old boy and I live with my brother Kai. He's 9. We all live in Saratoga. I have lots of homework but I don't do it in time. I do it at night. "Hey Tal!" Kai! What does he want now? "I'm going to play with my friends." He blurted. Now I'm finishing my homework. I want to play my friends too. A few days later my mom asks me if I want to play with my friends. I said yes. Of course, she wanted me to finish my homework first. Well, because of my homework I never have time to play with my friends. I don't understand the importance of doing that. Homework is a waste of time. Since I despise homework, I decide to give up school during the second trimester. After a few months my mom asks me, "Tal," I sense something is wrong. I brace myself for the screaming. I know why. Then it happens. I could feel her cool breath as she screamed at me. Her breath is cool because she makes lettuce strips for lunch when she is angry or nervous. This is because she likes playing with the strips in the water. When she is really angry I can tell because she makes the lettuce strips stick together with melted cheese and adds chicken to make a healthy sandwich. This
