— Western States Hereford Association — A big thanks to the Reno events center, Nugget and our committee for working through all the additional challenges, this year, and finding ways to make this event happen! It takes guts, perseverance and hard work to survive in the livestock business and clearly in 2020! Some things will look a little different and most things will look the same, as we host the Hereford event in Reno. For over 55 years, volunteers have been dedicating time and energy to the WSHA and our show in Reno. Preserving Western traditions, ranching, cattle projects and most importantly family and friends, are the core of our event. They have spent countless hours, organizing all the aspects of the event, we call Hereford Reno. It’s a time-honored tradition for generations of families and we appreciate all participants both new and old. We continue to honor John Ascuaga, the late Willard Wolf and others who’ve been an inspiration to this event and the Hereford business in the West.! We provide a venue for our adults and our youth to mix, share stories and make new ones. Multi-generations of Reno enthusiasts bring their kids and grandkids to the event and the friendships are evident as you walk through the buildings and hotel lobby. Our schedule is the same as last year with the Junior Show Thursday, bull show, sale social and sale held back to back at the Livestock Events Center on Friday. (Our semen, flushes and advertising auction will be held as part of the sale.) Lastly, the female show will be on Saturday with the silent auction, honoree presentation, scholarships and awards held to wrap up the event at the Nugget hotel and casino. Thanks to everyone who makes this event happen. Outside of our committee and staff, there are many, who roll up their sleeves and make this event happen. Not because they have to, because they want to. It has it’s own character and standing, with people all over the country and we appreciate the many participants who make “Hereford Reno” such a special event. Thanks to Michelle Thelen and Sue Hoffman who work tirelessly behind the scenes each year. They do the things, most people don’t see, but surely are effected by. Lastly, to Hereford breeders and friends, who have made Hereford Reno one of their favorite weeks of the year!

The passing of Lilla Bell, Derral Mosby and Dave Goss, have been a challenge for our Hereford family, however, through their Genetics, Families and friendship-we will honor them with a smile, handshake and a hug, knowing they made a difference. This has been a year of new challenges and we hope that you’ll appreciate the extra effort our board and certainly our president, went through to put on this event. SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS —

Bidding: Each animal offered for sale will be sold to the highest bidder. Each bid shall constitute an offer to purchase, and the final bid shall constitute a binding contract between buyer and seller. The auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on such matters shall be final. Terms: Terms of the sale are cash or bankable check (U.S. funds), unless prior arrangements have been made. All settlements are to be made with the clerks of the sale immediately following the conclusion of the sale. Announcements: Any changes from printed information of any kind will be announced from the auction block and such announcements shall take precedence. Registration Certificates: A certificate of registration and transfer will be furnished for each animal at no cost to the buyer. Identification: Seller offers each animal with a readable tattoo corresponding to registration. Buyer agrees to check tattoos for accuracy. Handling and Risks: Each animal will be purchaser’s risk as soon as sold. Rights and Obligations: In the event of default in any part of the Terms and Conditions covering the sale by either the buyer or seller, it shall be the responsibility of the buyer or the seller to instigate any action necessary to bring about a fair settlement of any claims arising from this sale and to be responsible for any and all costs involved therein. The sale management assumes no responsibility, legal or otherwise, for the failure of either seller or buyer to fulfill their obligations. Risk: All persons attending the Western National Show and sale do so at their own risk. Neither the sale manager, board members of the Western States Hereford Association or any person involved with the management of the show and sale assumes any liability, legal or otherwise, for any injury or damages. Delivery: Sale management will assist in making delivery arrangements of the sale animals to the new purchaser’s destination at the least possible cost. Delivery will not exceed $500 — per lot to a central location within the continental United States if arrangements are made by the sale manager. All such deliveries will be at the buyer’s risk. Livestock Mortality Insurance: Insurance will be available from StarNet Insurance, James F. Bessler Agency. Health and Guarantees: 1. All bulls will be tested for Brucellosis, Trichamoniasis and appropriate health papers will be available for immediate shipment. All females are officially Brucellosis vaccinated. Cattle selling to any area that requires additional testing will have to complete tests prior to shipment. 2. All bulls born prior to Dec. 1, 2018 have passed a semen evaluation by an accredited veterinarian. These results will accompany the bull’s health papers. Bulls born on or after Dec. 1, 2018 will be sold with a breeding guarantee. 3. All females selling safe in calf will have been tested within 30 days by an accredited veterinarian, and a statement of proof will accompany the health papers.
