Dear Hereford Enthusiasts, Our family would like to welcome you to the Third Annual Ranch Royalty Production Sale. As you look though the following pages, we hope that you will see what we believe to be true “Ranch Royalty.” This year’s offering is as strong with as much potential as any we have offered to date. The future in these females is unlimited. Yes, they can be competitive, but most importantly it is the cow and donor future they all have that makes them the real deal and a special set! It is truly a set we would love to put back in the herd, but bottom line is we take the greatest pride in watching our cattle “work” and show a return for our costumers! As most of you know, we lost GKB 88X Laramie B293, aka “Tator” this spring. He has left a remarkable stamp again this year. We are so happy with the legacy he has left us. We think these “Tator” daughters speak for themselves.

We have a strong set of Open Range”daughters again this year. Our first daughters have come into production and are doing a great job. They have beautiful udder quality and milk flow. We have a natural calf by him out of our donor 9018W that is really special. We are also offering the natural calf out of our Grandview CMR Lady P606 8504 “Sarah” donor. This is a very rare and special opportunity to own the natural calves out of two of our best donors!

Lot 7 BF B293 MONTGOMERY 606D • The oldest of the Laramie daughters selling. She is a big, stout, growthy kind of heifer. In addition to her high performance, she can get out and move with ease as well. She has a little more white than most of the Laramie’s but these features only give her more look.

• This heifer goes back to one of the original foundation cow families here at Brumley Farms. She continues with the Montgomery cow family name. She combines her mother’s maternal traits with Laramie’s power and performance with the added bonus… this heifer might be the longest necked Laramie we have raised. This heifer will be a great asset in any program and in the end, she will make an outstanding foundation cow. It is in her blood.

The cow bred back a little bit earlier and has produced this Laramie daughter that we are excited about.

• A fancy Open Range daughter out of a cow that we think very highly of.

Her mother, 9018W, was one of our picks out of the Shaw Inaugural Cow Sale. She is a powerhouse cow that is ultra-attractive with a perfect udder. A maternal sister to 655D was a sale feature last year and sold to Sara McCann Harfst. She was reserve spring calf champion in Reno and was most recently a class winner at the 2016 Junior National Hereford Expo.

Bar One 1 Ranch

We are proud and delighted to participate in the 2016 ”Ranch Rayalty” production sale, and we thank the Brumley family for inviting us to participate. We think we have a strong group of heifers to offer for sale, out of proven donor cows and sired by some of the top bulls in the industry – Right Track, Bailout, 88X, and Currency. All the heifers are very eye appealing and are destined to be top flight mother cows.

We became Hereford breeders relatively late in life. We were professors at the University of Oregon but we became interested in purchasing rural property. The particular piece of land that caught our eye came with the stricture that we run a cattle herd if we were going to build a home on the site. Neither Karen nor I had any experience with cattle but we decided to embrace the adventure and have run the ranch for 18 years now. It has been quite a learning experience … and a lot of fun, too. Our university colleagues are a little mystified about what we’re doing, but we have no second thoughts and thoroughly enjoy the life we’ve chosen.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the sale on October 2nd. It will be our pleasure to show you the heifers we are offering.
