O

n December 2nd the Missouri Hereford Association will host the 16th consecutive Opportunity Sale in Sedalia, Missouri at the State Fairgrounds. On behalf of the Association and the Board of Directors, I would like to be the first to invite you to be with us at the 2018 Opportunity Sale. This has become Hereford weekend in Sedalia with the Associations annual meeting and awards banquet on Saturday night December 1st starting at 5 p.m. If you are unable to attend the sale on December 2nd at noon, make plans to be with us online with Live Auctions TV. We have 32 consignors bringing you 70 lots to consider this year. This sale was designed around its name, Opportunity, which works for both buyers and seller. It has helped breeders market and purchase the top cut of Hereford cattle from across Missouri and beyond. It is a marketing service provided by the MHA to members from Missouri and other states. These cattle have all been hand selected by our AHA Field Services Director, Joe Rickabaugh for the past 16 years! The MHA Board would like to thank Joe for all his efforts over the years. There will be several trailers at this event from around the state and beyond to help you with your trucking needs. All cattle must leave the sale site following the sale. For the past 16 years we have had at least 30 or more consignors bring cattle to this sale. The consignors list will change just a little bit from year to year. There are a very few that have consigned 16 consecutive years. I would like to bring your attention at this time to a breeder that has, Glengrove Farms! Bob and Gretchen Thompson have supported this event even before it came to Sedalia sixteen years ago. On behalf of the Board, the entire Association and myself we need to thank them for all they have done for the sale and the Association. They have always been here for us and once again this sale gives them an opportunity to offer to you their entire bred heifer group and top two fall yearling heifers. This is there freshest genetics from there legacy in the Hereford business! Help yourself to these females and all others offered today! Hereford cattle continue to be in the spotlight in the beef cattle business. You will find our consignors have put together a strong set of cattle for you again this year. The show heifer age females are as good as you will find anywhere, along with the bred heifers, fall pairs, spring splits and herd bull prospects! Before the sale we will be selling pages in the new 2019-2020 Missouri Hereford Association Directory, to come out in February! I would like to thank the Board of Directors and the sale staff for all their hard work that truly makes this a great association event. There is fun and excitement for all in Sedalia, Missouri, the first full weekend in December each year and I would think you would want to be a part of it again this year. Plan to attend the annual meeting and banquet at 5 p.m. Saturday December 1st. The sale headquarters will be the Best Western State Fair Inn. Ask for the Hereford Association block room rate. Sedalia is a hard town to get a room in so call now 660-826-6100. Other accommodations are listed in this catalog.

Hope to see you in Sedalia!!! Matt Reynolds, MHA Secretary 1071 Co. Rd. 1231 Huntsville, MO 65259 Cell 660-676-3788 reynoldscattle@cvalley.net

He is the perfect combination of “old school” horned genetics mixed with one of our most productive cow families, PLUS the added bonus that Juice Box brings makes him ideal for any producer. Phenotypically he has the bone, thickness and eye appeal in a moderately framed package that can be used in a purebred breeding program or in a commercial black baldy herd. Whatever you are hunting for, the Buckmaster will hit your target every time!

• Juniors, take notice here! This may be the best prospect we have offered to date. She has already been in the purple as she was the 2018 Missouri State Fair Open Show Division Calf Champion. I have one upset niece, but wanted to offer our best! Sierra is a cool made sweetheart. You’ll like her neck extension, length of body and sweep to her belly. She is attractive in the front end and still has plenty of muscle to her. She is short marked and dark red. Should also make a nice cow prospect. She goes back to 88X and Barber’s Gabrielle cow family and is out of an About Time female. She is smooth polled. • Reserving the right to one (1) flush, six (6) embryos minimum, at buyer’s convenience. • Sells open

• We are at a point where we can start letting of a couple of genetic gems going back to our donor STAR BSP Roxie Beth 325N ET. This calf is out of a first-time heifer. She is a full sister to one of the high selling calves at the Star Lake Dispersal and the reason we purchased Roxie Beth and S109. We bred her dam, OAKS This Girl Rox Too 908C ET, back to our Git-R-Done bull so we feel we can offer these genetics with a full sib to this heifer on the way. Get in on the ground floor with a heifer that has the genetic background to move a herd forward. Take her home, breed her to a bull of your liking and be assured she will do her part raising the calf. • Sells open

She is an own daughter of our donor, STAR BSP Roxie Beth 325N ET who was National Champion in Ft. Worth. Her sire is National Champion Times A Wastin. This cow family has produced many champions at all levels, but more importantly, produce cattle that work. Th big bonus is that she sells with a heifer calf at side. Pairs with this phenotype and genotype are not sold very often at this young age. We believe this pair can be an asset to most herds in the country. • Lot 64A: Heifer calf, born Sept. 18, 2018, by SB 122L Git-R-Done 19R ET, BW 76 lb. Reg. #43954520. • Sells open
