Choice of the Champions

Lot

1

This year, the National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) is adding to Lot 1. Not only will the lucky bidder get to put their name on the historic street sign that is on display throughout the year at the American Hereford Association, but will also be on display at the Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) in Louisville. As an added bonus this year, the highest bidder will get their pick between the Grand Champion Polled or Grand Champion Horned Heifer sponsorship at the 2022 Junior National Hereford Expo. “Banners in the Bluegrass” is sure to be one of the biggest and best JNHE’s to date and don’t miss this chance to be a part of the action and put your name on the grand champion horned or polled heifer of the prestigious owned heifer show on the green chips. Take your pick and thanks for your support of the NJHA and JNHE.

A Henry Silver Eagle 2nd Edition

In the movie business, sequels are rarely as good as the original. Hollywood takes a blockbuster, spins off two or three watered down versions of the successful formula, and rides it till it dies. Not so at Henry Repeating Arms, where we do just the opposite. We’re always on the lookout to expand our horizons, and we don’t water anything down. The rimfire Silver Eagle we introduced as a “best value” in an engraved all-Americanmade rifle is a beauty for those who like a little shine at the range, and it’s also a fine shooter, as all of our Golden Boy-based rifles are. For 2016, we thought we’d let the Eagle soar a little higher, and that’s exactly what we’ve done with the introduction of the new Silver Eagle 2nd Edition, and its cousin, the Golden Eagle.

Consignor: National Hereford Women

Dana Pieper . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 785-737-6096

Retaining the same general features as the Silver Eagle, both new rifles are available in .22 S/L/LR in the same configurations with 20” blued octagon barrels, buck & bead adjustable sights, select American Walnut furniture, with the same magazine capacities. The difference lies in the engraving, and we’ve taken a step away from the Silver Eagle’s historical roots to depict an actual majestic American eagle in flight, wings spread, facing forward into the wind on both sides of the receivers, surrounded by classic 19th Century scroll engraving patterns. The Silver Eagle 2nd Edition’s brightly polished nickeled frame is set off by a slightly darker immediate background for its eagle; the Golden Eagle uses high-relief 24K gold to make its image pop in a more fully-engraved background, along with the words Golden Eagle in banners in an engraved panel on both sides. Logical upgrades from our original Silver Eagle, both are fine examples of American craftsmanship that you can show and shoot with equal pride, and consider how a pair of these could brighten up your den, office, or living room in a matched set of our hardwood wall display cases. It’s OK to flaunt your prized Henry, and looking at it every day just may motivate you to shoot it more often. Which wouldn’t bother us at all.

Just add banners to this fancy show heifer prospect! This dark red, pigmented heifer is incredibly stylish on the profile. She is beautiful in her rib design and covers her tracks as she travels. She is stout made but still long and feminine in her muscle shape. To compliment all of this, she is a sweetheart to be around and is gentle and kind for a young showman.

This goggled eyed heifer has the look to wear a show halter. Focus on her pedigree and it reads well – R Excitement on the top side, 10Y and 936 on the bottom side. The Excitement daughters in production are working well and much has been proven already with 936 and 10Y breeding. Her EPD graph is also extremely strong. This sale focuses on heifers that can show and then make great cows. Put a check mark in both of those boxes for this attractive show heifer.

Poppy has been a favorite around here. She is soft made with shape and style. Her dam was Crystal’s selection a few years ago from Shaw’s. This is our first opportunity to sale outside the Southeast and we wanted to bring our best. This is the kind of cattle we want to consistently breed. She has a lot of dimension to her center body, a lot of width from the base up and structurally sound. This lady is stout with a lot of bone and has cow power written all over her. She is sired by R Excitement which was recognized as a Certified Hereford Beef Sire of Distinction this year and his daughters have performed well. On the maternal side her dam was sired by Victor 755T. A lot of time things come full circle and this heifer’s grandam is one we bought out of this very sale.

Goggle eyed Belle Air daughter is very intriguing. Phenotypically she is really smooth and square and has all the pieces for a show heifer. She is incredibly sound and right in her angles. The Bonnie donor for us has been an amazing cow. She always throws dark red conservative white and pigmented. She herself was a successful show heifer and won her fair share of big ones for us in Texas. Belle Air needs no introduction to the Hereford crowd and is continuing to sire high end cattle, just like this one that we are offering. Crazy EPD profile. Top 5% in 5 traits and top 10% for 7 traits. There is so much functionality and versatility in this female.

In truth, this is one that we don’t want to let go of! We have not sold any of our Geisha females because they are the corner stone of our breeding program. This will be the first one that we are offering. She is a natural calf out of our matriarch Geisha 501. Jarrett showed her and now she is ready to make her mark as a future donor and elite female. She is sired by the HAPP Buck Valor bull that is being used extensively in those two herds and is laying some good ones. We think this one is a great one! Beautifully designed with great pigment. Her EPD profile is solid across the board and has no holes. Breed her any which way you want and it will work. Bred AI 6/27/21 to UPS Sensation 2296 ET. Ultrasound safe to AI date.

Rare mating! Sire, Resolute 128D, will add bone, length and POWER! Semen is a rare find so we are being very selective how we use it. Dam, 9022, is a half sib to Revolution 4R. She is great uddered, deep bellied, and very sharp fronted. This could be an incredible mating!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS Go to www.LiveAuctions.tv. Please note that you do NOT need an account to watch the auction, but you do need to register an account and request a buyer number if you wish to bid. If you have not created a new account since September 1st, 2020 you will need to click “Register” in the top right corner of the homepage and create a new account. Once you have completed the form on this registration page and hit the “Register” button you will receive an e-mail with a place to click on to verify you have entered a valid e-mail address. Once you have completed this registration process, find the auction you are interested in on the homepage and click on it (sales are listed in chronological order). You should then see a box that says Login. Now that you have an account with LiveAuctions just type in your E-mail Address and Password. You will now see a hyperlink at the top that says “Request a Buyer Number”. The first time you request your first buyer number on LiveAuctions it will send you a text message with a verification code in it. Type the code from the text message into the area requiring it and you will then see your name along with a buyer number listed at the top of the webpage where the live video is and you will be able to bid. You will only have to complete this two-step verification process one time. After that you will be able to immediately request a buyer number on any auction without verification through an e-mail or text message again. LiveAuctions no longer requires an app. If you wish to view/register/bid on a smartphone just type LiveAuctions.tv in whatever web browser you use. The registration process is the same as it is on a desktop computer, but the website is built mobile friendly. Click on the three lines in the top right corner to access the menus. Bidders who are successful in making purchases will be contacted by the ranch after the auction to settle payment and discover your shipping plans. If you need help registering to bid or to view the auction please call Technical Support at (682) 816-4900 or e-mail us at TechSupport@LiveAuctions.tv.
