AHA Director of Records Stacey Standers and representatives from the records department will give a brief overview of the MyHerd site for any non-users or new members.

The team will also focus on new features and will give an update on new tools available to help users learn to navigate the system and perform specific tasks.

Social Media Marketing: Navigating a Social World Whether you’re a Facebook pro or just getting started online, this session is designed for those needing assistance in the social media world. Take your social media marketing to the next level with AHA Marketing and Communications Coordinators Kaylen Baker and Katy Holdener. The team will help lay the groundwork to enhance social media presence for your business. A question and answer portion will be included after the discussion of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and website tips.

Creative Services: Capture an Outstanding Photo, Logo, Brochure or Catalog Take your Hereford Publications Inc. (HPI) creative services projects to the next level with this session. HPI will present a panel discussion between HPI staff and attendees and will open the door for learning how to prepare projects for both print and digital production. The moderator, Joe Rickabaugh, director of field management and seedstock marketing, will introduce staff and lead the conversation on various HPI projects. This will be a fun, interactive, fact-finding session for those who attend.

Certified Hereford Beef: Excellence Built By Tradition In this session, participants will learn why the Certified Hereford Beef (CHB®) program was formed and the requirements to qualify for the program from Chief Operating Officer Amari Manning, and Director of Commercial Programs Trey Befort. The team will cover live animal specifications and the USDA quality-graded carcass specifications along with an overview of the consumer side of the industry to learn how CHB is marketed in both retail and foodservice segments.

Whole Herd TPR Genetic Evaluation Updates: What You Need to Know AHA Director of Breed Improvement Shane Bedwell will discuss implementation of new genetic evaluation updates and will provide a roadmap for the future of the Hereford breed. This session will cover the reasons why the AHA is moving to the new genetic evaluation software, BOLT. Bedwell will also examine trait groupings and re-estimation of parameters, new economically relevant traits including Sustained Cow Fertility (SCF), Heifer Calving Rate (HCR) and Dry Matter Intake (DMI), and will review the four profit ($) indexes — Certified Hereford Beef Index (CHB$), Baldy Maternal Index (BMI$), Calving Ease Index (CEZ$) and Brahman Influence Index (BII$).

New Heights in Leadership Hereford breeders and enthusiasts are invited to attend a presentation by a high-energy, entertaining and, most of all, inspiring Kelly Barnes. Born and raised on a small family farm in eastern Oklahoma, Kelly’s message is centered on the stories, life lessons and virtues he learned growing up.

Terms of the sale are cash or check payable at the close of the sale and prior to load-out unless previous arrangements have been made with the owner in advance. Animals will be sold to the highest bidder with the auctioneer settling any bidding disputes. Announcements at the sale by the owner or auctioneer will take precedence over statements in the catalog. Each animal becomes the buyer’s risk as soon as sold, but will be cared for by the seller until load-out or for a reasonable period of time. Except for those stated herein writing, there are no further warranties or guarantees of any nature, express or implied.

Payment A check, cash or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) must be made for purchases directly after sale completion. No exceptions unless agreed upon by sale manager and consignor prior to sale.

Health of the consignments is excellent. Individual health papers will be furnished for shipment in the U.S. All animals become the property of the purchaser(s) at the time of sale and AHA as well as the consignors strongly recommend you insure your purchases.

Delivery of the sale animals to the purchasers is not part of the sale agreements. Association personnel, consignors and exhibitors will be on hand to assist with transportation arrangements in any way possible.

The Ladies of the Royal sale heifers will be stalled with the Hereford cattle at the American Royal. Ladies of the Royal stall cards will be posted above each heifer throughout the Hereford stalls.

The heifers will be put on display behind the Wagstaff Sale Arena starting at 12:30p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Again this year we will be using buyer numbers.

You can register for a buyer number starting at noon on Saturday, October 29 in the lobby of the Wagstaff Sale arena or at a table set up where the heifers will be on display behind the sale ring.

Sale order will be posted at both of these locations.

Sale order will be determined by the sale consignors.

Lot 1 — AHA Street Sign

• The AHA street sign will be auctioned with the proceeds going to the National Junior Hereford Association Board of Directors to aid in their travel to Hereford events nationwide.

The sign, measuring 6 x 24 in., will feature the buyer’s name (i.e. Hereford Ranch Drive) and will be displayed for one year in front of the AHA headquarters. Many international and domestic visitors to the AHA headquarters as well as American Royal guests will view this sign.
