Friends and Fellow Cattlemen: On behalf of the St. John family, we invite you to join us for our Second Annual Production Sale on Saturday evening, October 28th at 5:00 p.m. CDT. Dinner and live music will follow the sale. Cattle will also be available for viewing all day Friday, October 27th.

As we sit here and write this, we’re reminded how blessed we truly are to be able to breed Hereford cattle and be involved in a breed that is full of great people. Dry Creek Farms started as a 4­H project exhibiting Hereford cattle back in 2005, as our parents saw an opportunity to teach us real life lessons in an agricultural setting. We can’t thank our family enough. This is truly a family operation.

We feel these cattle speak for themselves. We have selected cattle that will fit any program, whether you are a junior exhibitor looking to win in the show ring or a progressive purebred breeder looking to advance your program with a good, young female, a young herd sire, or a proven donor. Our focus maintains raising cattle with calving ease, performance, carcass merit, and maternal ability.

A special addition to this year’s offering is the set of good, young fall­calving cows we had the opportunity to purchase this past spring from the Upstream Ranch in Nebraska. These cattle are offered with heifer calves at side.

We feel these females are a great investment opportunity. You do not want to miss seeing this set in person.

SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS TERMS: Cash or good check. Cattle will be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioneer in charge shall settle any disputes as to bids.

All cattle are to be paid for by the purchaser during or immediately following the sale and will not be released until after settlement has been made. Each animal will be at the purchaser’s risk immediately after it is sold.

HEALTH: The health of the cattle selling is excellent. Each animal will be accompanied by an individual health certificate for immediate shipment.

GUARANTEE: Each animal will sell under the American Hereford Association’s Recommended Terms of Sale for Auctions (www.hereford.org).

BREEDING GUARANTEE: All animals are guaranteed to be breeders with the exception of (a) calves under 12 months of age at time of purchase; (b) any female that is placed in an embryo transplant program and subjected to super­ovulation; or (c) gross negligence on the part of the buyer.

Females sold as safe in calf have been examined by a competent veterinarian and checked safe by ultrasound. The ultrasound results reported are as accurate as possible but are not guaranteed. No guarantee is given that bred females will deliver a live calf.

Open females are guaranteed to be without calf. Any agreement with respect to embryo transfer production shall be a separate agreement between buyer and seller.

EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES (EPDs): EPDs are updated weekly by the American Hereford Association.

The EPDs included were current 9/16/23. The most current EPDs can be viewed online at www.hereford.org.

LIVESTOCK INSURANCE: Insurance for your purchases will be available sale day.
