XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The Kegley and Jones families welcome everyone to the third Badger Southern Select Sale! We

were proud to be the host state for the Junior National Hereford Expo this summer. Both of our families were happy to sponsor the event. It filled our hearts with joy to see all of the great people and great Hereford cattle from all across the United States. We hope some of you will be able to come back and join us at the sale or online. We have dug deep into our herds this year to offer our best. We are proud of the exciting show prospects, young cows and outstanding bred heifers. They define our goals of “Sound, Stout, Stylish” Many of these are produced from our embryo transfer programs by some of the best AI sires the breed has to offer. Cattle are sired by About Time, Bailout, Cracker Jack, Full Throttle, Laramie, Mason, Revolution, Ribeye 88X and Wyarno. Many of these are bred back to these same sires as well as Chosen One, Perfect Timing, Sensation 28X, Sundance Kid and Victor 43Y among others! We also want you to check out the offspring out of Tundra’s Prophet who has added so much udder quality and cow power. He has made quite a name for himself in Wisconsin. These cattle are out of the same donors that have brought us championships at county, state and national levels. We feel these cattle with their deep pedigrees will stand the test of time! We always have been proud of our families working together to put on this sale. The beauty of having two families in one sale is that we can offer you a wider diversity of genetics. Along with that genetic diversity, we offer a lifetime of cattle experience to the new buyers. We love helping new breeders or young show people get started in the Hereford breed and will provide service after the sale to help you achieve your goals. We were amazed at the number of new breeders at this year’s Junior National Hereford Expo, and we hope that you would like to take one home with a Badger Southern Select ear tag. Not only are you buying a quality animal, but our years of knowledge and experience is only a phone call away. The sale will have a slightly different format this year with no animals run through the sale ring. Instead, we will have videos playing of all the sale lots as they are auctioned off. All animals will be on display for your inspection prior to the sale. This format, while new to us, has proven to be quite popular in the industry. Also new this year, we will also have the sale online at LiveAuctions.TV. All lots are pictured and videoed and both are available on our sale website, www.badgersouthernselect.com. For even more information on our individual farms or donors, check out our farm websites at www.kegleyfarms.com and www.wildcatcattle.com. We invite you to make it a Hereford weekend in Southern Wisconsin. Mud Creek Farms Football Frenzy sale on October 1 is a quick 80 minutes from our sale facility! Hope to see you on October 2nd or stop by any time before! We would be honored by your presence! Kurt and Jenni Kegley BJ and Kim Jones

• This Ribeye 88X female was our first venture into IVF with our Baby Baby female. We knew she would be a maternal powerhouse and she did not disappoint! We are offering some tremendous young cows in this sale with some of the hottest pedigrees in the breed. While moderate in stature, this cow will wean a heavy one off every year. Great feet and legs, she should offer a lifetime of profitability. Maternal sisters are in production at Next Generation Genetics and Able Acres. Her EPDs place her in the top 10% for MM, M&G and MCE. • Due Feb. 23, 2017, to CRR 719 Catapult 109. Ultrasounded safe with a heifer calf.

• 602 is a granddaughter of our Baby Baby cow. Her 2-year-old dam is a flushmate to Lot 25 and is super uddered like her sister. Revolution/Ribeye88X/Baby Baby — what an awesome pedigree of maternal genetics. We love the smooth shoulders, great rib shape and sound wheels on this female. Her pattern reminds me of her grandam Baby Baby. You will love this one even more when you get her into production. Eight EPDs in the top 10% for growth and maternal traits.

We think she could stand some heat in the showring next summer. Her sire, 19W, is a super low BW sire that we used for calving ease and a nice outcross pedigree. Vibrato has generated a ton of excitement around our program after winning her division at the Junior National. Another full sister was shown by Brooke Davis and stood second at JNHE. Their dam, Rhapsody, was reserve calf champion at Louisville and has been a cornerstone donor for us. Full Throttle’s have been taking the breed by storm. Here is another heifer that really deserved to be shown. She is still so fresh in her appearance, has a long extended front end and the style necessary to be competitive in the ring. • Due Feb. 9, 2017, to the outcross Semex/Elmlodge bull Square-D Tortuga 953T, with sexed heifer semen. Ultrasounded safe with a heifer calf.
