“We drove past this campground on our way to the Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park and even though we managed to get a spot there, it was without hookups and very sparse. We then opted to go back and try Cardwell and it was simply wonderful.
Everything here is clean, quiet and nicely laid out. Showers are included free of charge too! Having the convenience of the store / gas station right there was also a plus in my book. Even though we stayed just the one night (on our way to Yellowstone), I would certainly return as it is an awesome location to park and explore the area.
Thank you Cardwell for a great experience!”
“One of the few RV parks that is open in February (so I’m assuming all year). Kurt was incredibly helpful and friendly. The camping space was just as expected with 20A, 30A, and 50A electric and water. It’s far enough away from I-90 that you don’t hear much of the road noise. I’ll definitely come back on future trips.”

“As noted earlier, trying to find a RV site in the cooler months can be quite the challenge. En-route to Butte, we stumbled by a billboard advertising this cute little park. We called and found that they had space with water and power. The park was clean and snow free. Diesel fuel on site. There are some permanent dwellers but they are all kept together in one specific area. Showers and restrooms are available.”
JAMES LEBRETON“From the warm welcome in the parking lot to the super cute and CLEAN cabin, this is a great place. The shower house was nice and clean, you can also do laundry. Great place to stay if you are headed through and need a comfortable place to stay. Check it out, I bet you’ll like it!”
rulisongirl“Stayed here for a week in our campers. The campground was nice, quiet and well maintained. No issues. Internet was a little slow but who needs that when you are on vacation. Would go back if we are ever in the area.”
nicole r.“Definitely worth a stop at this well stocked general store/ gas station with full coffee bar, ice cream by the scoop, great candy selection and a very well thought out gift shop with excellent products. All the staff and owner were so nice and friendly! We will make this a regular stop on all of our trips from now on!”
“The staff is very friendly. The general store has snacks RV supplies and area for unique gifts made by locals. There’s also an ice cream shop in the same building as the general store. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would stay here again.”
