At present, the world population is more than 7 billion people and everyone wants to have good quality of life. The human well–being enhancement always comes from knowledge of science and technology, but not all people have an opportunity to learn or study about them. I am one person who has had a chance to study and know the importance of science. My passion is that I can be one person who conveys science to people of all ages in my country and promote the value of science. Making people know more about science and guiding they bring this knowledge to improve their quality of life are what I want to do. This passion of mine resonated with the Ministry of science and technology of Thailand that have offered monetary support for my study with the Royal Thai Government Scholarship. In this regard, I believe that a master degree in Science Education will help me to prepare me to become a good science educator in National Science Museum of Thailand. I am certain that the qualities I have achieved from Chulalongkorn University from bachelor degree will allow me to be successful in the Science Education in Informal...show more content...

One can be a science demonstrator, an educator in a zoo, aquarium or museum. No matter 'what you are', if you know the right way to educate people, for example, how to talk, how to teach, and how to convince people to be interested in what you are talking about, you do not need to be concerned about the name of your role. For me, I want to develop my potential in being a science educator. I want to learn how to enhance the understanding of students. I want to know effective ways to spread knowledge to a great number of people. I want to be a good educator to inspire people of all ages in my country to learn more about science and show them how interesting science is. As a result, I want to continue my study in the science

Statement Of Purpose: Substance Abuse

Greetings, class and Dr. Piper

My name is Diane PorchГ©; I am in the Clinical Mental Health course. I live in Denver, been here for 45 years. I hold a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in painting. I have a daughter, La Shell who is 35, and a grandson Da VajaГ©, who is nine going to the fourth grade, that keeps my spirit alive.

Substance abuse is my final class. I start a practicum/internship in the fall. I am looking forward to this class, gaining knowledge about addictions, how it affects different cultures, religious/spiritual beliefs, and why being addicted to a core is harder for some cultures to gain mental strength to defeat their dependence. As for any substance abuse counseling experience, I lack expertise in that field.

I have

I am committed to a career in psychology, with a focus on Industrial and Organizational psychology; I hope to enroll in Oklahoma's I–O psychology master's program to expand my research and real world experiences and to further develop my knowledge of I–O psychology. My research experience began the summer prior to my senior year of high school, when I successfully competed with other county students for a year–long internship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Each summer since then, I've worked on different projects at the NIH through their summer internship program, conducting research on monocytes and bacterial cells, analyzing data from patients with HIV infection, and presenting...show more content...

As part of my responsibilities, and of special interest to me, I would additionally be interviewing patients for another protocol, in part to help develop a patient reported outcome (PRO). I quickly realized that my past experiences were inadequate preparation for the work that I thoroughly enjoyed. Within the first month, I had to establish efficient techniques for time management to allow myself to multitask in setting up patient visits, meeting with and evaluating patients, processing lab specimens, and entering patient and specimen information into a database. I needed to perform all these without deviation from the protocol, to maintain consistency with other study sites. Four months into the position, my patient load doubled, my GRE studying was underway, and my patient interviews for developing a PRO had begun. Daily calendars and post–it notes quickly became my best friends. Fortunately, since starting, all protocols have run smoothly, and we recently submitted an abstract to AAAAI's annual 2016 meeting on data gathered as part of the PRO development

"One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way." Franck Smith

My interest in learning English is due to the fact that I have always liked to challenge myself. Even though many of my friends and family warned me from majoring in English, as it would be difficult for me, I have accepted the challenge. I have always felt that learning English would increase myself confidence and have people around me impressed. This interest has also grown through my passion in learning about languages, cultures, and traditions. Where I come from, Saudi Arabia, a big number of people came from different countries and spoke different languages. I have realized that English could be a means to interact with a lot of people speaking different languages. I have also realized that English is the lingua franca of today's world with no close rivals. Learning English actually...show more content...

First, I wanted a career where I can be satisfied both intellectually and financially. Second, in academia intelligent, motivated and stimulating individuals, who in turn, would motivate me and shape my thoughts, goals and research, would surround me. In addition, I would have the opportunity to interact with leading professionals in my field. Also, the journey towards learning and discovery never ends in academia. Not mention, my high GPA which made me eligible for teaching assistant positions. Therefore, I had focused on applying for jobs at universities, colleges, and educational institutions where perusing graduate studies was potential. After a year of filling out applications, making interviews, and travelling around Saudi Arabia, I received a phone call from Buraidah Community College to come and finish the paper work as I was accepted as a Teaching Assistant in their EnglishLanguage

Coming from the general business background, I find economics the most influential and powerful social science in society's daily life. Good knowledge of economics leads to better decision–making and choices, understanding how people and countries interact with each other and can significantly improve the quality of life for individuals and in the larger scale to countries.

I want to study economics and build a solid knowledge in the field to be able to see the causes of things more clearly, understand and find out the ways to make good economic decisions, and build a career through which I can make good contribution to the field by using the acquired academic skills correctly.

My independent research in the field started with my curious interest in the processes of how decisions made by individuals and governments, what are the main factors encouraged them to choose particular decision over other options and the outcomes of those decisions. Then, I started to read theories of great Economists, such as, Keynes, Freidman , Devenport, Kinnerly and Mason who wrote on decision–making and the ability of individual to interpret the information. Additionally, there were theories by De Bondt , Clark , Tversky and Kehnman who argued that human psychology is interconnected with economics which cannot be ignored. Learning those theories and comparing them with the real life happenings, my enthusiasm to get deeper insights of economics increased. Encouraged by this, I have compiled

I have given much thought about my education and career goals. I included my current qualifications and accomplishment, as well as, the fulfillment of my desire to work in the government sector or industry. The issue I had with setting this goal was I qualified to work in many areas, and had become as a "jack of all trades and master of none." I was all over the place trying to land in a specific area and industry. I have an Associates of Applied Arts degree in Paralegal, a Certificate in Corporate Governance, and a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice. I have worked in the private and nonprofit sector for years. I have collaborated with local and state government for a cause, but still felt as if something was missing, or I was not connecting with the right person or institutions. Therefore, I knew I had to strategically pursue both, education and career goals according to my vision and in doing so, I have to think long–term keeping my eyes on the result of my goals. Working with nonprofit agencies and AmeriCorp V.I.S.T.A. (Volunteer in Service to America), I had the opportunity to learn firsthand at the efforts given within agencies to service the environment and the public by making changes, and implementing reforms on different issues. I found I have a passion for people, legal policies, compliances, and I am very good as a spokes person, or advocate speaking on change. During the time when I was facilitating as a General Education Development instructor for
