WOMEN WHO LEAD IN EDUCATION Vice President of Academics Lori Winningham recognized by the Wichita Business Journal Winningham, who has been working at Butler since 1992, was recognized August 27 by the Wichita Business Journal for their Women Who Lead in Education Awards. Named Vice President of Academics in 2016, Winningham was dean of the Behavioral Science, Math, Science, and Physical Education division at Butler for nearly 20 years.

"I value individual differences and work to recognize that members of my team have various strengths and shortcomings," Winningham said. "It is by putting the right individuals in the right positions that we maximize the strength of the team."

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM APPROVED New associate of applied science degree

Fall Events Cancelled Many of our donors and

supporters are accustomed to our fall events; the President's Donor Dinner

In September, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a construction program to begin this coming spring with the hiring of a full-time instructor. Classes will begin fall 2021 semester.

Butler worked with educational and industry partners to develop the degree program including Associated General Contractors of Kansas, Beran Concrete, Eby Construction, Hutton Construction, Simpson Construction, and Wildcat Construction.

The college also plans to start a construction technology high school academy program in fall 2021 with Rose Hill High School.

The degree program will prepare students for work in residential and commercial construction and remodeling. Area construction companies have pledged in-kind and financial support.

The program will be part of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Division.

where we recognize individuals and businesses who have reached new lifetime and annual giving levels, and the Reaching New Heights Scholarship Dinner, which brings together donors and scholarship students.

Understandably, we have made the decision to cancel these events this year out of our concern for the safety of our donors.

You will receive stewardship pieces, calls, and perhaps visits (if you are comfortable!) in place of these events. The Foundation staff certainly misses seeing our wonderful contributors!
