Auction

Dear Friends,

Welcome!

Good evening & welcome to one of the highlights of our college calendar – the 27th annual Butler Benefit Auction! It is with great pleasure & gratitude that I welcome you to be a part of this extraordinary event that changes the lives of our students every day. Whether you are joining us for the first time or have been coming to this event for many years, we welcome you to Butler Community College. This auction has become a great tradition & a testament of the collective commitment to our students through your generous support.

Tonight, we gather not only as supporters of Butler but as champions of education & advocates for a brighter future. As leaders in our community, your presence here tonight reflects not only your dedication to the success of Butler but also to the potential of each student who chooses Butler. Over the past year alone, the Butler Foundation has provided students with more than $1 million in scholarships to help further their educational journeys. This support helps empower the next generation of leaders by creating opportunities & opening doors that they might not even realize exist. As we embark in our celebration tonight, know that your generosity will impact the lives of students far beyond their time at Butler.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our honorary chairs, Evan & Angie Funk. Evan & Angie have selflessly given to their alma mater Butler. Their experiences at Butler have built foundations for friendships that will last throughout their lives. Their engagement within the Butler community, which they share with their family & friends, contributes to the generational Butler pride we all know & love. Evan is currently serving in a leadership role as the president of the Butler Foundation Board of Directors & remains dedicated & committed to the principles of our mission & vision in serving our student population.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, donors, faculty, & staff without whom this event would not be possible. It is a wonderfully fun & successful evening each year because of each & every one of you. Just as a family, the Butler community consistently shows its support for the future of Butler through the dedication and commitment to the lives of our students.

Enjoy the evening,

Honorary Chairs

Evan & Angie Funk

We are so honored and humbled to serve as the honorary chairs for this year’s Butler Benefit Auction! Jeremy Sundgren started inviting us to this event annually almost 15 years ago. It has been amazing to watch the Auction grow over that time. The growth of the Auction and the Foundation could not have happened without the amazing efforts of the Butler staff, volunteers, and community members like you!

We are both Butler Community College alumni, and have a long history with Butler. We grew up attending Butler sporting events with our dads, and we became students in both high school and college. Evan has served as a Butler Foundation board member and is the current president.

Butler touches the lives of so many people in Butler County, but also across the State of Kansas, and throughout the country. The State of Kansas has some of best Community College options in the country and we believe Butler Community College is the shining star. The opportunity Butler provides for an affordable and meaningful start to a student’s college career is beyond compare. It is because of you and your generosity that Butler is able to achieve this status.

Tonight we have another opportunity to support the Foundation, the College, and most importantly the Students. Your donations are so appreciated, and the impacts of your generosity will last for generations. Thank you again for your support, and let’s keep Jeremy and his team busy tonight!
