Time Flies
Butler Benefit Auction March 4, 2022
Dear Friends, It truly is amazing how “Time Flies!” Can you believe we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Butler Benefit Auction tonight? I’m so glad we’re together this evening! I have been honored to serve as Butler’s president for the past 8 ½ years and since my first weeks on campus, I have been awed by the tremendous support and generosity of our “Butler Family” which includes all of you. It didn’t take me long to understand Butler is a very special place. Our faculty, staff, administration, Trustees, Foundation Board, and community members, who believe in this college’s mission to change our students’ lives, create this empowering and transformative culture. Since 1927 when Butler’s first students enrolled for classes through today, countless lives have been touched and changed. The Butler Foundation has been an integral part in ensuring bright futures for our students and their families. In the past few years alone, the Foundation has given over $750,000 annually in student scholarships. Tonight, with our 25th Butler Benefit Auction, your kindness and gifts will support the Foundation and its ability to be a “difference-maker” for our students through scholarships which will impact their lives far beyond their time at Butler. I extend a heartfelt thanks to our honorary chairs, Jeremy and Kelsey Sundgren. Both Jeremy and Kelsey know firsthand how the Butler experience has shaped their lives. Their leadership for this auction along with the support of our sponsors, volunteers, donors, faculty, staff, and students will collectively make this evening exciting, inspiring, and successful once again. Each of you plays a significant role in transforming the lives of our students and we are tremendously grateful for your continued generosity and belief in Butler. Thank you! Enjoy the evening, Dr. Kimberly Krull President, Butler Community College

Honorary Chairs
Kelsey & Jeremy Sundgren We are so honored and proud to serve as the honorary chairs for this year’s milestone Butler Benefit Auction! We have been attending and enjoying this event, as well as volunteering in various ways both at the auction and behind the scenes, since we were very young adults. It has been such a privilege to watch the auction grow and evolve through the years thanks to the efforts of Butler staff, volunteers, and patrons like you! Both of us feel so blessed and grateful to have a long history with Butler Community College. We grew up attending Butler sporting events with our families, and we became students in our high school and college years. Jeremy has served as a Butler Foundation board member and past president. Our crew at Sundgren Realty looks forward to conducting the auction for this most worthy cause every year! We are happy to have been involved in the establishment of our family’s endowed scholarship, the Joe Sundgren Family Scholarship. We see the many ways the college has enriched our lives and the lives of those in our community, and we are thrilled to have these opportunities to give back! Thank you for your support of Butler Community College! We know when we bid tonight, we’ll be thinking in part about our kids and the many educational opportunities Butler can provide them as they grow up right here in El Dorado, Kansas. We’ll also remember the many amazing students we’ve had the opportunity to meet through our interactions with the college. Your generosity is so appreciated by so many—we are blessed to share a love and appreciation of Butler and its students with you!
