NEWS, IDEAS, AND INSIGHTS It takes a community to educate a Grizzly you make it happen!
MARY MOON TO RETIRE Mary Moon, pictured right, is retiring after 31 years with Butler! As our Executive Director of Community Advancement, Mary has been an integral part of our external outreach over the years. During her time with the Foundation, Mary elevated the Butler Benefit Auction to a premier fundraising event for the region. We are so grateful to her for conducting this event successfully, even during the pandemic! Mary's work with Advance Kansas, Butler's diversity leadership initiative, has been a highlight for her. "Wherever I go and whatever I do, I will take what I have learned, and I will continue to learn, and I will use it for good," Mary said. Congratulations, Mary, on your retirement!

Two committees are overseeing the fundraising and project planning processes, respectively. The purpose of these committees is to focus specifically on their areas of the capital campaign. Keep reading this newsletter in the future for more updates about this exciting and innovative project.
Well, not that our students weren't in school last year they were! But this year we hope to make the semesters as "normal" (whatever that means now) as possible for students while monitoring the highly contagious nature of the coronavirus. Classes begin on August 16. On July 1, we welcomed Dr. Tom Nevill to campus as our new Vice President of Academics. Dr. Nevill comes to Butler from Austin Community College in Texas. To stay up-to-date on all of the campus goings-on, visit butlercc.edu/calendar for all activity dates and butlergrizzlies.com for athletics information.
