Dear Friends, Welcome to Butleropoly, our 22nd annual benefit auction! On behalf of everyone at Butler, and especially all of the students who will benefit from the money we raise tonight, thank you for being here and for changing lives with your giving and caring hearts. We are humbled and honored by your presence. This year’s theme evokes fond memories of hours spent playing Monopoly as a child with my family and friends and later as a parent with my own children. I still have the well-worn Monopoly game that we played for so many years including the handwritten replacement cards for Pacific Avenue and Pennsylvania Railroad. Still today, the “scottie dog� is my favorite! Unlike the board game in which there can be only one winner, many win because of Butler. Your support helps students create their own value as they make their way in the real world. Your generous giving tonight supports the Foundation, enabling us to ensure the brightest future for the college, our students, and their families. We are indeed fortunate to enjoy the kindness of so many amazing donors who recognize the unique value Butler offers. Thanks to our supporters, scholarship dollars continue to grow. This academic year, the Foundation will award close to $1,000,000 in scholarships and other support to the college to benefit students. Students come to Butler from all walks of life and many struggle to balance school, work, family, and other responsibilities. With your gifts, you lighten their burden by helping to keep them in college and focused on academics, enabling them to work fewer hours, afford more classes and most importantly to graduate. I extend a heartfelt thanks to our honorary chairs, Scott and Betsy Redler, for their amazing leadership and to all of the sponsors, volunteers, donors, and staff who collectively make this evening exciting and successful year after year. Silent Auction 1. The silent auction closes when bidding on live auction item 18 begins. The super silent auction will close when bidding on live auction item 22 begins. 2. A bidding sheet is displayed with each item. Bid by writing your bidder number on the line corresponding with the amount you wish to bid. Each bid must be one of the stated amounts. A bidder may skip to a higher bid or to the Guaranteed Purchase amount. 3. If a person places a Guaranteed Purchase bid, they win the item and bidding ceases on that item. On items for which there is more than one Guaranteed Purchase bid line, each person who places a Guaranteed Purchase bid will win the item and bidding remains open until all Guaranteed Purchase bid lines are filled. 4. For items in which a Guaranteed Purchase bid is not placed, the person whose number appears opposite the highest value bid at the time a section closes wins the item.

Live Auction Items 12 Commissioned Choral Work Dr. Richard Nichols, Dean of Fine Arts and Communication at Butler Community College, is offering to write a commissioned piece of music. This commission can be written in memory of a loved one, in honor of an anniversary, or for any type of special event. The text, which may be specified at a later date, may be of secular or sacred origin, but must be in the public domain due to copyright issues. The piece, once published and available for performance by choirs around the world, will bear a dedicatory statement on the title page. The commissioning party will receive copies of the sheet music and a professionally made recording of the piece. Richard Nichols has over 250 compositions in print. He has been commissioned to write for recognized performers and organizations: Stuart Neill (soloist with the Metropolitan Opera), David Kim (concertmaster with the Philadelphia Orchestra), Anne Martindale Williams (principal cellist with the Pittsburgh Symphony), and the American Guild of Organists, among others. Live Auction Items 17 European/Continental Hunting Trip at T&C Wildlife Experience the ultimate European/Continental hunt at the exclusive T&C Wildlife Hunt Club in southeast Kansas. Get away from it all in a natural setting of over 6,000 private acres and a white pine log lodge. Four guests will arrive on Friday afternoon in time for some trapshooting before relaxing in the den or on the deck overlooking Arrowhead Lake. You’ll feast on a country gourmet dinner and spend one night in the lodge. On Saturday morning you will be taken from the lodge to the location of the shoot. Five hundred birds are released and hunters are rotated through 12 stations. After the hunt, you’ll return to the lodge for more of T&C’s down-home hospitality. This package for four includes the hunt, dinner, and drinks on Friday, a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and a one-night stay in Arrowhead Lodge in two rooms with two beds each and a private bath.
