PurPle reign Butler Benefit Auction
March 3, 2023
Dear Friends,
Thank you for joining us tonight! You are a very special part of our Butler Family. Whether you are here as a special guest, a member of the community, or a faculty or staff member, you are changing the lives of our students. Over the past nine and a half years as Butler’s President, I have continually been awed by the generosity and support from our “Butler Family.” Your presence at the auction helps our teams inspire and prepare students for a lifetime of success, whether it be in the classroom, in the workplace, or in the community.
Each day, I am honored and privileged to be at Butler and to see firsthand how students are empowered and inspired. These students are our future and will soon be leaders in their organizations and communities and likely change the world. Isn’t it amazing part of their foundation is at Butler? As you know, all these educational opportunities for our students require a “team effort.” Your generosity, as partners, helps provide our students with opportunities to build brighter futures. Over the past year alone, the Butler Foundation has provided over $800,000 in scholarships to our students. Tonight, with our 26th Butler Benefit Auction, your kindness and gifts to support the Foundation and its ability to be a “difference-maker” for our students will impact the lives of our students far beyond their time at Butler.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our honorary chairs, Brady and Jaime Sharp. Both Brady and Jaime know firsthand how the Butler experience has shaped their lives. As Butler students they not only achieved academic and educational goals but also had opportunities to participate in athletics, fine arts, and student organizations as they enjoyed college life. They took their next steps beyond Butler but have always remained devoted and committed to the college, our students, events, and this very auction.
I would also like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, donors, faculty, and staff who make this event possible, THANK YOU!! You all help make things happen, not only tonight but for the future of Butler. Each of you plays a significant role in transforming the lives of our students and enriching the vitality of our Purple Pride.
Enjoy the evening,
Dr. Kimberly Krull President, Butler Community College

Honorary Chairs
We are so thrilled and honored to serve as the honorary chairs for this year’s Butler Benefit Auction! We have been attending this event for many years and look forward to it every spring. It is so exciting to witness how much the auction has grown throughout the years and to hear how the donations have impacted so many students’ lives. This event filled with good food, friends, and generous bidding could not happen without the amazing efforts of the Butler staff, volunteers, and community members like you!
Both of us are so grateful and indebted to have a long history with Butler Community College. We became actively involved at Butler more than two decades ago. Each of us have participated in a variety of ways anywhere from attending sporting events, taking courses, Headliners and Smorgaschords involvement, and Jaime serving as the Director of College Health Services. Through these roles we see firsthand the influence the Foundation scholarships have on students. We believe in the value of an affordable education to help prepare students to become productive members of our community. Butler Community College touches countless students and families, including our own. Each one of you here tonight have had or will have an impact on a student. Thank you so much for your support and belief in the college. YOU can make a difference, so please raise your bidder numbers high, and bid often!
