Internships in Insurance, other Relevant work Experience or Relevant Insurance Industry Involvement
Since the summer after my Freshman Year, I have worked for State Farm either in their Life/Health Actuarial Department or their Property & Casualty Actuarial Department. I have previously held internship on the Long-Term Care Pricing and Asset/Liability Management Teams. More recently, I transitioned into the Property & Casualty Department where I have worked on both Homeowners and Auto Pricing Teams for the past couple years.
Insurance Licensing and Professional Designations Exam Parts Completed or Passed
Passed 6 Actuarial Exams (FM/2, P/1, IFM/3F, MAS-I, MAS-II, and Exam 5)
Community Involvement During College
Volunteered with Gamma Iota Sigma – helped build a house with Habitat for Humanity, packaged food with Midwest Food Bank, assisted with clearing out old vegetable beds at Active Bloomington Gardens, volunteered in our Pen Pal Program, helped clean the YMCA classrooms, and wrote thank you cards to military service members.
Other Campus Involvement and Personal Accomplishments
Heavily involved in the Actuarial Club and Gamma Iota Sigma on Campus.
Career Goals
My goal is to continue to learn about the actuarial profession and work through the difficult credentialing process after graduation as I begin to work full-time in the State Farm Property & Casualty Actuarial Department. I am pursuing the P&C side of insurance so I can work alongside my brother, who is also an actuary.
