JOEY APPELHANS is a junior majoring in financial accounting. He is also pursuing a minor in computer science. He is an active part of the Student Accounting Society. In his free time, he is the Secretary of the Pokémon Go Club at Illinois State University. He is very excited to be part of an upcoming Tax Internship at KPMG during Summer 2022. He has future plans of pursing a master’s degree and passing the CPA exams.

JOEY APPELHANS is a junior majoring in financial accounting. He is also pursuing a minor in computer science. He is an active part of the Student Accounting Society. JASON AMAREI is a senior majoring in accounting. He is graduating with his bachelor’s degree in May 2022. Also, he recently applied and got accepted into MSA graduate school at ISU. He plans on sitting for the CPA after he finishes his graduate degree and hopes to work for one of the Big 4 accounting firms.

JESSI BATTERMAN is a graduate student from Crete, Illinois. She is an accounting major in the five-year BS/MPA program and will graduate in May 2022. After graduation, she will finish sitting for the CPA exam, and begin her full-time position with Caterpillar in Deerfield, IL this fall. She is currently the Team Director for the Delight Ministries ISU chapter, a campus organization which she helped start in Spring 2020. She is also a member of Women in Business and has served on their executive board as Vice President of Corporate Relations and Director of Membership. She has a passion for mentorship and likes to spend her free time cooking and with friends and family.

He is currently working part-time as a construction member for Scott’s Exterior Maintenance where he is a landscaper and does snow removal.

He is gaining a lot of experience using heavy equipment and building various landscape beds, retaining walls, and concrete pads as well as plowing snow in the winter.

BRANDON BICKERS is a Senior at Illinois State University, majoring in business information systems (BIS) with a minor in data analytics. He plans to graduate May 2022. He is an active member of Student Accounting society, Illinois State Students in Finance, Illinois Certified Public Accounting Society, and Climbing Club. Connor currently works full-time at Keplr Vision in their Revenue Accounting Department as an intern. Connor also works part-time at Upper Limits as a route setter on weekends.

He will be sitting for part one of the CMA this February and part two shortly after in May. After he completes the CMA, he plans to sit for the CPA. Connor has has been training numerous years to compete on American Ninja Warrior after he finishes school!

CONNOR BUCKNER is a senior from Crystal Lake, IL. He will graduate in May 2022 with his B.S. in accounting and B.S. in business information systems. In addition to his classwork, he is currently studying for the CPA exam, and will begin work as an advisory analyst at Deloitte after graduation. In 2019, he started his journey at Illinois State University with a MS in financial economics and was accepted to the MS in accountancy in 2021. Raju expects to graduate in May 2022 and is looking for full-time opportunities. He plans to sit for the CPA exam in spring 2022. Raju completed his business process and accounting internship with Growmark, Inc.

CAITLIN ROWDEN is a graduate student majoring in accounting. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration in December 2021 and looks forward to completing her masters in May. She is planning on sitting for the CPA exam this summer and securing full-time employment in financial accounting after graduation.

TYRAH SEXTON is a senior/graduate student from Odell, Illinois. She is an accounting major in the BS/MPA sequence, and she is minoring in Organizational Leadership. She plans to graduate in May 2023. She finished serving a year-long term as the president of the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance in December and is looking forward to starting a two-year term as a National Director of AFWA in June. Additionally, Tyrah serves as the president of Alpha Phi Omega Co-ed Service Fraternity, a mentor for Business Week, and the Campus Ambassador for Becker. Other organizations she is a member of include Student Alumni Council, the Honors Program, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Beta Alpha Psi. Tyrah has enjoyed spending her time volunteering with her service fraternity, as well as playing flute in the Big Red Marching Machine. She is currently interning with Dunbar, Breitweiser, and Company.

Jack also currently serves as a Young Life leader mentoring kids at Normal Community High School. He is currently completing a tax internship with CLA for the spring semester of 2022. Jack plans to sit for the CPA exam in spring of 2024.

KALEB SPREITZER is a senior enrolled in the integrated BS/ MPA program at Illinois State University. Kaleb is currently completing a tax internship with ORBA, a CPA firm in Chicago.

This is his 2nd year on the ORBA intern staff, and he will start full-time with the firm in 2023 after passing the CPA exam.

Hallie also serves as an academic tutor for the Accounting Department at Illinois State University. He has worked for the FDIC as an intern bank examiner for two years and will transition to a full-time examiner after graduation. He is also currently researching changes in derivative accounting guidance for publication with mentoring professors Dr. Madeline Trimble and Dr. Joe Johnston.

Natalie serves as the president for Circle K International and is also a part of the honors program at ISU.
