Inside Made-in-Aba campaign attracts N3bn in direct orders - Ikpeazu CRISIS BREWING: A contest has erupted inside the Banana Island estate in Lagos over ownership and use of a plot of land on which these two contending signs now stand. Agents of the Nigerian Army Properties Ltd invaded the estate last week to take down a sign erected by the residents and property owners in the estate before going on to place a signpost belonging to the Army on the same spot. The Army seeks to forcibly take over the land because of a planned 43-hectare Apple island estate some 500 meters offshore Banana Island. However, the land is earmarked for recreation in the original plan of the estate and the adjoining property is a children’s playground. If the Army has its way, the children’s playground will be turned into to a busy highway cutting the estate into two halves to provide access to the Army’s planned Apple Island Estate.
