Conference Ambassadors play a key and active role in attracting their association conferences and we at the Birmingham & West Midlands Convention Bureau want to work with you to bring more events to the West Midlands. By doing this, we can attract more international delegates and visitors to the region, enhance economic growth and showcase our region’s expertise, innovation and pioneering spirit to the world.

WHO CAN BE A CONFERENCE AMBASSADOR?
Anyone can be a conference ambassador, if they have the potential to host a national or international event in our region. Ambassadors are influential in their field and play a key and active role in attracting their association conferences.

HOW CAN WE HELP?
The Birmingham & West Midlands Convention Bureau’s purpose is to promote Birmingham and the wider region as a leading destination for business events.
One of the ways we can do this is to work with you as a Conference Ambassador to attract leading association conferences.
We CAN offer all the support you need to bid, win and deliver a truly remarkable event.
WE WILL WORK WITH YOU FROM TO START TO FINISH:
INITIATING THE PROCESS
• Researching the event
• Submitting a note of interest
BIDDING FOR THE EVENT
• Finding a suitable venue
• Preparing and submitting a bid proposal
• Preparing presentations for bid/committee, including city representation if required
• Supporting on familiarisation and venue visits
SUPPORTING THE EVENT
• Creating a bespoke event microsite for delegates
• Providing a free accommodation booking service for delegates
• Working on social programme planning (e.g. gala dinner)
• Assisting with marketing support to promote the event and destination to drive attendance
• Supporting with applications to VisitBritain’s Delegate Growth Programme Become an ambassador today
