UNDERTAKING ONGOING REVIEW AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF THE ORGANISATION
IMG Road Infrastructure audit was undertaken to assess the condition of Council’s roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, signs, street furniture and linemarking. There has been a steady improvement in the overall condition rating since the previous audit in 2012.

UNDERTAKE SERVICE REVIEWS The Building & Development Service Review was undertaken. Remaining service reviews were postponed due to the Fit for the Future process.

MONITOR ORGANISATION DEVELOPMENT POLICIES AND PROCESSES New Competency and Performance (CaP) e-platform implemented across organisation to improve KPI process

PROMOTE AND SUPPORT INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING TOGETHER ACROSS COUNCIL Launch of the new intranet ‘Branches’. The project was a joint collaboration between the Media and IT Teams
The Fit for the Future joint proposal was undertaken by the FFF Working Group and through cooperation between Executive Management, Media, Finance and Assets
The Bugler from Burwood was unveiled on Anzac Day 2015. The sculpture was a result of a parternship between Media and Events, and Urban Planning
RESPONDING TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT’S ‘FIT FOR THE FUTURE’ (FFF) REFORMS Staff received regular updates from the General Manager throughout the year including weekly messages in the Fuse, staff catch-ups special emails and notices released in conjunction with major announcements by the State Government. Information was also made available on the intranet with a dedication ‘Ask the GM’ section for FFF related inquiries. Council created a FFF working group to analyse and develop strategies around the proposed reform agenda with ongoing interaction with neighbouring councils.
ZERO LOST TIME INJURIES ACROSS THE ORGANISATION Quarterly reviews of Work, Health and Safety matters are undertaken by the Executive and shared through the Executive Communique.
DEVELOPMENT OF A CORPORATE PROJECT MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK Capital Projects Gantt chart completed and implemented by the Capital Program Working Party.
All Safe Work Method Statements and Safe Operating Procedures covering depot activites have been completed, staff inducted and implementation commenced.
ENHANCE OUR ENGAGEMENT WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY Council carried out comprehensive community consultation as part of the Fit for the Future and Council Boundary Review processes. A range of community engagement initiatives were undertaken including establishing and growing local business partners, providing workshops, civic events and other promotional campaigns.
