Istartedphotographysomehow,inan unstructuredway,whenIstartedprinting negatives,longbeforeIownedacamera.
WhenIwasinhighschoolIboughtawell-used enlargerandpreparedaspaceathomeand startedprintingoldfamilynegatives.Aftera fewyearsprinting,Iboughtmyfirstcamera, a35mm. Beingself-taught,IrealisedIneededsome guidanceinordertoadvanceincertainareas, andthat’swhenIdecidedtomovetoScotland,
whereIgainedanAdvancedDiplomaat StevensonCollegeinEdinburgh.
Sincethen,Ihavebeenworkingonlongterm personalphotographicprojectswithethnic minoritycommunitiesandthewaythey livenowadays.
Morerecently,usingnineteenthcenturyprinting processes,I’vebeenphotographingScottish Victorianarchitecture.
