Radar run brings in hundreds of spectators JONATHAN RICHIE SENTINEL EDITOR
Siren Nationals brought in hundreds of spectators to watch cars drive down the 1/8-mile runway at the Burnett County Airport. They were also able to get a look at classic cars in the car show and the newly added
swap meet. The spring radar run was held in May and Chuck Schultz, the Airport manager had the numbers from the event at last week’s infrastructure meeting. “We had about 100 cars in the radar run,” Shultz said. “With over 600 spectators and 150 volunteers. Those are
all unpaid positions.” Chris Sybers said it was also a stellar year for the Lion’s Club. “They sold more food than ever before,” Sybers said. “They actually ran out of food.” Siren Nationals is held twice a year in the spring and fall at the Burnett County Airport.

Barnes “But people have a poor experience on our roads they’ll remember that and that’s what they’ll tell people,” Barnes stated. “There’s a lot of disagreement in Madison, I don’t know if you’ve heard,” Barnes explained. “This, in this room, is where the actual work happens.” Barnes was asked about how roadwork across the state would be funded and specifically about the possibility of added tolls to roads. “I’ve heard whispers about adding tolls to roads and tolling across the state,” Barnes said. “I am not in favor of that option.” Highway Commissioner Mike Hoefs SEE BARNES, PAGE 2
