David Wilkie Scholarship for the Study of Spanish Art The Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica and the University of Edinburgh are delighted to announce the creation of a fullyfunded doctoral scholarship in Spanish art-historical studies, commencing in the academic year 2017/18. The scholarship will cover the University Home/EU/International tuition fees for three years (or four if required), together with an annual stipend of £14,000 for living costs and travel. The scholarship supports research on Spanish art including its reception by British artists, collectors, and critics. Proposals relating to the period between the late 17th and the 20th century are particularly welcome. Applications should be submitted to the University of Edinburgh online postgraduate application system (History of Art) by 1 February. Simiolus has become a journal of record for studies in Netherlandish art. Over the past decades, we have had the privilege of publishing many of the most influential and exciting papers in the field, and our ambition to continue doing so remains undiminished. We are therefore interested in all original contributions on the history of Dutch and Flemish art especially, and if accepted, offer to pay for the cost of translation into English of manuscripts submitted in Dutch, German or French. Volume 39, which will be published in and as 2017, will feature contributions by — among others — Daan Meuwissen on Cornelisz Anthonisz, Ruben Suykerbuyk on the patronage of the decoration of the church in Zoutleeuw, Matt Kavaler on Pieter Bruegel, and Jan Piet Filedt Kok on Bosch. It will also contain a special issue on the print publisher Hieronymus Cock. Previous volumes up to and including volume 36 can be accessed through jstor. Later ones will be added in due course. Institutional subscriptions cost € 90 a year, individual subscriptions € 55, and there is a special rate of € 30 for European students.
