Paralimni Marina, Cyprus The Paralimni Marina will be developed in its own character, with focus on the new 300 berth marina basin set against the backdrop of the open sea views beyond. Carefully considered architectural landscape street scene design, will deliver an appealing and intimate waterfront environment. The main feature of the waterfront zone will be a mixed-use development, incorporating a blend of speciality shops, marine sector retail, bars and restaurants.

The Expected and the Unexpected 00.00.16
The Expected The term begins with a synthesis project focusing on studying the unexpected elements in our everyday actions. This project explores the motion of shoelaces in cold and hot temperature. This year’s site is situated in Highbury and Islington, Northumberland Park, north of Essex station, London.
10
Material Testing The motion drawing influences geometries to create the model above. The process derived from the structural bone created with metal rods and developed with heated foil to form a skin. However, this model generates several questions within materiality and structural compatibility.
The unexpected: Shoelace mapping Shoelace motion in hot temperature study through a series of layered drawing, projected from a video.
11
STRUCTURE TESTING | BAMBOO STITCHING The model is made with bamboo shafts and veneer. Steamed, flexed and stitched with threads. The materials are chosen inspired by the vernacular environment of the park.
12
The Vision: The Canonbury Pavilion The experiment on the left shows an adequate structure to hold the veneer roofing. The Architecture aims to embrace and create a character in the atmosphere of the park.

.Y2/2
Site
The Carpenters Workshop Term 2 explores the diverse culture of Camden Passage in Highbury and Islington, known for its precious antiques and vintage goods. The project begins with the context study of movements and use, which then translated and studied into the metal rod model shown above.
14
The idea of the Carpenters workshop derived from the lack of manufacture and repair services in the area.
Development The aim of this project is to design a cartographer’s workshop and living space on the riverbank of Isle of dogs. The project focuses on the Edge condition.
The Symbiotic Relationship
Method
The analysis model influences potential densities which can be embedded to the site.
Experimenting with different scale through models allows me to magnify and measure spatial elements. The first iteration was successful as it explores the program’s use. However, the model design did not satisfy the potential capabilities of the site.
15
The Workshop The second iteration uses the full width of the site and enhances the context atmosphere by adding a few elements such as an external market space and a crane to help transport
Hand drawing + Modelmaking The project brings out the endless possibilities from the experimental methods above, using physical drawings and models. This project had taught me to be self-critical and more explorative in my work. Although this project is overly ambitious in reality, It made me realise that physical production is one of my greatest strengths to experiment on ideas.
Spatial Qualities The Carpenter workshop and market consist a home for the carpenter’s family, External and roof markets spaces and a carpenter’s workshop. The home is situated on the upper levels of the site consisting of two bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen living room.

The Ornithologist Archive Site Exploration
The third year begins with an in-depth analysis of the Isle of dogs. My site situates on the south embankment, an old shipyard located next to Poplar rowing club. The site is aligned within the meridian line with a popular hotspot for swallows and bats due to the nearby park and riverbank.
18 18
The research progressed by examining the swallow’s migration, exposing unique terrains, borders, and tectonic plates. The analysis drawing reveals a unique pattern which develops into a form of the concept that hints spatial possibilities.
Discovering Everyday Motion The series of patterns developed into the iteration above, which consist an ornithologist’s laboratory, living space, and a small gallery. To test the concept further, I have studied the enclosures by testing on a bigger scale model, split into three fragments.
19 19
Vertical & circulation Development Process making
With further study site, swallows are fond of high places, away from direct sunlight to create their nests. Swallows are active during the daytime, searching for mud food and water, that situates within the riverbank. They favor small insects, which is encouraged by the neighboring garden of night-scented flowers.
20
The site encourages the project to extend further into the Thames, engaging with the river’s app and flow of the tides. The design also helps to build higher, a vertical element that encourages the ornithologist laboratory more engaging with the birds.
Development The tower development emphasizes the night scented garden situated on the top floor. The concept of the model was successful. However, the vertical internal spaces were less exaggerated. 21
Vertical & circulation Development Process making
The final design project is highly influenced by Lebbeus woods and Smout Allen. The project emphasizes in its spatial verticality and environment. Consisting of a public and private library, gallery, Restaurant, workshop, roof garden, and courtyard. Its spatial elements are highly focused on spatial qualities such as high vertical spaces, roof lights, small, tight and large spaces to give a feel of the randomness of nature. The projects are carefully embodied to blend with the River Thames. Water and form the Thames is pumped into the building and spread around the communal areas, emphasizing the feel of nature.
22
23
Shadow Study | Card physical model The colour experiment aims to visualise direct and indirect sunlight. The red light points from the East to the West and the blue, the West to the East. This experiment is crucial as it can measure the amount of light acquire within programmes.

Murals for Egipto! Bogota, Colombia
Violence was common. Local nurses help take care of the injured.
Egipto community are deprived because of their violent history. Despite the existing opportunities, the locals are struggling to find decent jobs. Many are uneducated, preventing them to have a better future. However, the locals are home for many talents such as hip hop, carpentry, and construction, which most make their money within the centre and plazas where tourists are common. The site is perceived as dangerous due to their intimidating sense of space, such as narrow alleyways and dense spaces. Nevertheless, the site has the potential of being the prime tourist attraction due to their vibrant, colourful neighbourhood. which comprises meaningful murals.

Landfill of the Truman Brewery This project explores how London’s metropolitan areas emerge and transform over time, becoming quarters for independent businesses, financial heartlands, and meccas of art and creativity. This project is centred around Brick Lane, known for its vibrant urban spaces and diverse demography, that has been shaped by societal displacements over time. It has developed into a mecca for a new generation of ‘hipsters’, intertwining with diverse local communities, creating an equally diverse demand for space.

Spatial Ambition The Public theatre space is designed to provide opportunities for different societies and Users. The main attraction is the performer, located at the stage like space in the centre of the stairway towards the main entrance. It brings people to gather around, which is beneficial to the market vendors situated on the ground floor and retail shops underneath. Here people can eat, shop and watch a performance in one space.
Strategy
The counter space is designed as a spatial divider for opportunities. These can be used as meeting, performer, teaching, gallery space, and more; It is arranged to have a central area where performers or events can attract a gathering. Here, The main attraction is the performer, and the market space benefits from the mass of people.
33
The Tearing Landscape
Design strategy
Left: Design Strategy: Creating Tension
The initial strategy was to create tension between users. By manipulating the ground condition, it creates opportunities to divide programmes.
Design Approach
1. Identifying territories
The landscape is manipulated through the ‘tearing concept. This creates an incline, decline and hollow space that makes opportunities for spaces and programmes. In addition, the tearing of the landscape provides more surface space for programmes as the Bricklane landscape will bleed onto the roofs. Furthermore, these spaces can also create tensions upon the several users and site constraints.
2. Dividing with circulation
3. Creating enclosures with Ripping concept
Typological strategy
Circulation + Constraints The site is connected to buildings of different uses. The above model experiment will be the primary strategy to the design. The coloured lines represents the territory that is connected to the existing buildings, the pencil lines are tension to seperate building fronts and main program. 34
New entrances and demolition of of temporary structural buildings

35
Left: The main Square The Square brings many opportunities for all societies. It is designed as a central space built for theatrical settings and gathering spaces. It attracts people to the centre for performance arts, Physical classes and social gatherings and benefits the markets and the businesses within and surrounding.
Right: Main Entrance The main entrance is located within ‘The square’. It is sunken and hidden from the overall landscape. This way, it gives many opportunities as the to the programme in the centre space as visitors are forced to pass through.
Middle: Multifunctional Space The sloping landscape and the plinth offer many opportunities for programmes. The render depicts an afternoon market space leading to the performance hall.
36
Right: The Landscape The landscape attracts and benefits all users. Here the render depicts an entrance to an evening performance play. At the same time, the skateboard and local communities use their space as a playground and gatherings.
Left: Programme Opportunities The Internal space provides many opportunities in the day as well as in the evening. In the day, it can be a market space, cooking events, gallery etc., at night, it can transform into performance and community spaces. Here, the render depicts an evening comedy performance for all users.
