This month is full of celebrations and days of remembrance. On May 9, we will celebrate Mother’s Day - a day set aside to honor and thank those in our lives that have been mothers and mentors to us. Our team is thankful to all of the women who have raised us, taught us, led us, and continue to make a difference in our lives and in this world. At the end of the month, we will observe Memorial Day - a national holiday set aside to remember those who have lost their lives serving in the US Military. Our team thanks all of our Joslyn members who have served, as well as their partners and families. We remember those who have lost their lives, and we mourn with those who have lost loved ones. This month we also celebrate Older Americans Month - a nationally designated time to acknowledge the important role that older adults play in our community. The City will commemorate this occasion on May 25, at the City Council Meeting. Vaccination eligibility has expanded to all adults over age 16. As a reminder, the Joslyn Adult Center is not a vaccination site, and we are unable to make appointments for our members. However, if you are interested in receiving a vaccine, one of our team members can help you access resources from LA County. The Joslyn Adult Center does not have a projected reopening date, but will continue to keep everyone posted as we receive more information. If you are interested in receiving Joslyn updates, please contact the Joslyn Adult Center, and we will add you to our e-newsletter. In the meantime, we hope to see you in one of our Virtual Activities!
