IT’S WHO YOU GO WITH Our family’s love for travel goes way back. In fact, we’re so passionate about travel that in 1995, we started Bunnik Tours. Fast forward three decades, and we’re still doing what we love: designing intimate travel experiences that dig deep into the heart of each destination, forging the kind of memories you’ll carry with you for a lifetime. So go on, kick back and leave the planning to us. We’ll take care of all the nitty-gritty so you can focus on soaking up the magic. Every detail is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in the colour and culture of each place you visit — so you don't just see it, you feel it. This includes the types of experiences you can’t do on your own or with a large group. Because it’s not just about where you go, it’s who you go with.

“TRAVEL ISN’T JUST A BUSINESS TO US — IT’S OUR NAME, OUR PASSION AND OUR LEGACY” bunniktours.com.au | 5
Small Groups Life’s too short to spend it waiting around. That’s why our tours are limited to no more than 12 travellers (or 16 for in-style tours), so you can truly engage with your surroundings and fellow travellers. It’s been the Bunnik Tours philosophy since day dot. The result? Less time waiting, more time exploring — just the way travel should be.
More accommodation choice Less waiting around
In small groups, you get to the good stuff faster. From getting on and off vehicles, to accommodation check-ins, comfort stops and meals — everything is easier, so we can show you more of what you came to see.
More time with your guide
More time to explore
Our tour guides are know-it-alls, which is actually a good thing. Travelling in a small group means more time to learn from experienced guides who are eager to share their passion for their country. In other words, more opportunities to discover the secrets that only the locals know about.
What’s the best way to truly experience Africa? By exploring it like a local, and there’s no better way to do that than in a small group. Our itineraries are thoughtfully paced to limit long travel days where possible, giving you more time to connect with local communities and immerse yourself in the heart of Africa.
More seating space
Flexibility
On a Bunnik tour, everyone gets a window seat. That’s right. We keep our group sizes small, so you’ll always have plenty of room to stretch out in comfort, with front-row views of Africa’s breathtaking wildlife and landscapes.
Better views
Small groups are more flexible, so we can change the itinerary around to suit the local conditions. Even if it’s off the beaten track, we’re always down for a detour.
Get off the tourist trail
Full vehicles often mean your holiday snaps feature the back of people’s heads. When the vehicle isn’t full, you’ll spend less time scrambling for a better view and more time soaking up the scenery.
For logistical reasons, large groups rarely stray from the typical tourist trail. With a smaller group, we can venture to lesser-travelled areas, visiting local villages and taking part in authentic cultural experiences.
More great memories
Be a responsible tourist
The only thing we love more than travel, is doing it together. Small groups mean more meaningful connections between like-minded travellers and the people, culture and places we visit. It really is ‘who’ you go with that makes all the difference.
6
Small groups mean special stays that reflect the region’s warmth and character. Across Africa, we handpick lodges, chalet-style accommodation and tented camps that showcase the very best of local hospitality. Each stay enhances your journey, bringing you closer to the soul of Africa far beyond the standard chain hotels.
Small groups are low-impact and don’t spoil the very place you’ve come to see. By not being limited to chain hotels and restaurants, we are able to better support the communities who are sharing their world with us.

Leave the details to us. We’ve put everything you’ve ever wanted to see and do (plus a few hidden gems) into our small group tours. No hidden extras or cheeky costs. Packages include all sightseeing, accommodation, special experiences and everything in between.
Special experiences No hidden extras
Our tours include all sightseeing, return international airfares on our classic and in-style tours and even taxes and tips where it is customary. All you need to worry about is having the time of your life.
Tipping made easy
As a family of travellers at heart, for us it’s not just about clocking up countries or as simple as leading you to a destination. Of course we’ll show you the iconic attractions, but our tours dig a little deeper, taking you off the tourist trail to discover the true essence of the places you’ve been dreaming about.
Multi-night stays
Tipping is expected in many of the countries we visit and often makes up a large portion of people’s wages, so it’s important to get it right. But you don’t need to worry about that. It’s included in the cost of your tour.
Why stay one night when you can stay two? Our itineraries include multi-night stops to give you more time to take in your surroundings. It’s all about finding the balance between squeezing every bit of fun out of your time away and remembering to hit pause, relax and just be in holiday mode.
Character accommodation
Transportation
From spending two nights at the historic Kruger Shalati ‘Train on the Bridge’ hotel to retreating to a traditional Moroccan riad, we make sure your itinerary includes some unique and unforgettable stays along the way.
Meals
Breakfast is included daily on tour, along with group welcome and farewell dinners. We’ll also include some special culinary experiences as we explore. From a Swahili cooking class in the Maasai Mara to sundowners on Elim Dune, we’ll take your taste buds on a journey through Africa.
While many companies can take you to Africa, we believe in offering journeys that immerse you in its essence. From thrilling 4WD safaris and serene river cruises to a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta, each experience offers an intimate perspective of Africa’s landscapes and wildlife, ensuring your adventure is as unique as the continent itself.
Permits
We’ve included all national park entrances and permits in your tour, so there’s no paperwork to handle and no surprises along the way. Just more time to enjoy the experience and take in every unforgettable moment.
bunniktours.com.au | 9
The memories that come from spontaneous exploration are something no tour group can mimic. So we don’t. Our tours are personal, immersive and blend just the right balance of guidance with the freedom to explore. Shaba National Reserve, Kenya by Amie Bunnik
Freedom to
Explore
We plan most of your day, but not all of it Having a guide is good and ours are the best in the business. But sometimes, you need to break free. On a Bunnik tour, you’ll have plenty of time to roam on your own. Whether it’s weaving through Fez’s iconic medina or soaking up the sun on Zanzibar’s beaches, we give you the freedom to make every moment count.
Take a little detour If there’s something you want to see or do that’s not on the itinerary, no sweat. You can use these gaps to tick them off your bucket list. We also offer optional excursions based on special-interest activities which we know don’t always appeal to everyone, so you’ll have the freedom to take part or go your own way.
A Day on Safari Sunrise Safari
Midday Retreat
Twilight Safari
Wake up to golden light spilling across the plains, coffee in hand, watching elephants lumber by and lions retreat to their dens as the African bush slowly comes alive around you. Have your camera and binoculars ready! With expert guides at the wheel of our 4WDs, we’ll set out early into the savannah, tracking big cats on the move, spotting curious giraffes reaching for treetops and distant herds of zebra grazing in the background. As the day heats up, we’ll return to the lodge for some down time, perhaps a quiet lunch, a nap in the shade, or a cooling swim.
When the sun begins to dip, we’ll head out again, watching the landscape glow, birds settle for the night and possibly catch sight of a sly predator slipping through the grass. Every moment feels spontaneous and magical, yet thoughtfully planned. That’s the rhythm and magic of a day on safari. Lake Nakuru, Kenya by Amie Bunnik
12
Seasonal Highlights January to March Marvel at the wildebeest calving season in the Serengeti and Maasai Mara. Admire flocks of flamingos at the tranquil shallows of Lake Nakuru in Kenya. Delight in South Africa’s birthing season as zebra, antelope and hyena roam with their young.
April to June Embrace South Africa’s cooler months with unhurried safaris and wine country charm. See the Okavango Delta come to life as floodwaters create a haven for birds, antelopes, elephants and crocodiles. Savour Kenya and Tanzania’s green landscapes, where peaceful scenes set the stage for intimate safari experiences.
July to September Follow the rhythm of the Great Migration across the southern Serengeti and Maasai Mara. Revel in Etosha’s crisp mornings and superb wildlife at waterholes in Namibia. Spot lemurs and chameleons during Madagascar’s dry, wildlife-rich season.
October to December Feel the force of Victoria Falls as rising waters create a thunderous, misty spectacle. Watch wildlife gather at Kruger’s waterholes as the dry season peaks. Encounter baby lemurs and vibrant rainforest life on Madagascar’s east coast.

Fitness to Travel
From trekking across the dunes of Sossusvlei to exploring the lush jungles of Madagascar, we want you to enjoy every step of your journey, not struggle through it. Let’s work together to find the perfect tour for your fitness level. We’re passionate about creating journeys that are filled with incredible experiences you might not be able to have on your own, or in a larger group. However, that does mean aspects of our itineraries can be physically challenging on some days. Our tours are designed for independent travellers who live an active daily life. While we don’t put a specific age limit on our tours, we do impose a firm policy on the level of fitness and mobility required by all our clients to keep you safe and ensure everyone has a great experience. We request all travellers to complete our Mobility & Medical Disclosure form and reserve the right to decline the booking if the physical demands of the tour can’t be met.
Visit bunniktours.com.au/fitness for more information.
